Would you be saying that if Dier’s goal had stood, or Bentancur connected with his chance? It’s not like we didn’t have a hope of scoring with the system we played - we very very nearly did. There were a couple of sucker punches at the end but what we did tonight was ‘to dare is to do.’ It was brave. After 3-1 we probably should’ve shut up shop though.
Ofc I would. I said that on1-1 it was coming. Fact was that Chelsea were extremely poor running in offside all the time, until finally they understood to pass on the second run, people in here is to emotional taking everything the wrong way. The best football I have seen in years, but you must be allowed to say staying on th midfield with a high line with 9 men is naive without people in here shifting themselves, and thinking we want Conte football. 🤣🤣🤣 geez

So am I right in saying that Sky confirmed that VAR didn’t send off Bruno for Newcastle because he hit with his forearm and not his elbow?

Can we get some audio for the James elbow please?

ok...on the Dier disallowed goal....if it was a chelsea head the last contact, that was still a correct decision?. is a fluffed header considered a deflection?
I'd imagine it would be a goal as a fluffed header is still deliberately playing the ball.

Michael Oliver is no fan of us, however that is not on Oliver tonight.
I felt he definitely played a part. Lost the game. Failed to card a lot of the Chelsea players as well, for blatant yellow cards, fouls and dives.

Fair enough Romero shouldn’t have been on the pitch and I’ve got no arguments on Udogie as well, but he was poor tonight.

As much as I think they won’t be here soon, and overall rightly so (probably, albeit more so one over the other)..

Credit where it’s due, both Dier and Hojbjerg were fantastic when they came on. Dier you could sense wanted to just show and prove something and Hojbjerg again showing exactly what Ange means when he previously spoke about his role coming in when needed.

It must be hard, regardless of how necessary it may be, to come in when you’ve been on the sidelines for so long, but Dier came on, played in a system that didn’t suit him, with a whole lot of rust, and he did himself proud tonight and is one of the players who comes out of this with a lot of credit.

Hopefully another club watched that tonight and comes and buys him, as he’s obviously not in Anges plans long term but I think for a club somewhere, with the right system, he can be a good player for them.

Score 3 of the easiest goals he’s ever gonna score against 9 men. Gets MOM. Vic made some great saves and clearances that kept us in it. At the end they thought they won the league. Ange will have a word with the two red card boys but he should proud of the rest. Keep going as best we can and see what happens.

Gutted with the result and the suspensions and injuries are going to be a big blow but blimey, I rarely come away from a hefty (in the end) defeat feeling this proud of the team.
The way we kept pressing, kept trying and stuck to our principles can only be a good thing going forward.

There wasn't a man on that pitch that didn't give everything tonight and I'm here for that sort of performance, no matter what the result.

Yeah, we could have sat back and tried to defend and I'm sure plenty will say we should have but for me, there was still a chance that we could snatch something and it was great to see us still trying to.

The scoreline flattered Chelsea massively in the end.

It’s probably already been said, but why the crap did we lose our heads so early?! Some of those players let Ange down, themselves down, and most of all the fans down. Mental

does that matter about intent - they headed it last so diet was not offside by that criteria surely ?

That level of f*cking amazing fan support so nearly got us a goal (Dier).
We nearly turned it into one of the most remarkable Premier League results EVER!!

All because the our fans were relentless in their belief and in their support.
I was SO BLOODY PROUD.
And I really hope we maintain that fanaticism ALL SEASON.

Good on you. Every one of you 💛👏

Disagree slightly.

He allowed Chelsea players to get away with an awful lot of niggly fouls early on and gave the same against us. He lost control of the game as well and had he blown for the foul on Romero before the kick out then he doesn't get sent off. Romero should really have calmed himself down though too.

If he's still on the pitch Mickey doesn't get injured.
