With both teams practically walking out there Ndombele is made for this game. Get him on. Doesn't even have to break a sweat

what has happened to kane, he looks crap to put it frankly. offers 0 movement, no hold up play. not in the game. very poor to watch

he’s changed his role completely.

Now he just comes short, looks for the foul from behind or if allowed to turn, looks to play either of the two wide forwards in running on.
Started doing this with England first for Rashford and Sterling.
now standard at WHL

trying to find a reason to help him out but I agree with you he is a shadow of his former self.
Just so static
We have blamed the service but he really isn’t moving to find space. So easy to mark him out of the game now.

It's all a bit shit. No-one wanting to drive at them, passes going behind players and/or not coming quick enough.

I watched an interesting football documentary the other night about Pep v Jose when they were managing Barca and Real Madrid. At the time Barca were miles ahead of Real and pretty much untouchable. What was interesting and relevant to Spurs is that Jose also set Real up to put 10 men behind the ball and look to play on the counter. It was the season they played Barca 4 or 5 times and managed to beat them once in the cup final I think and hold them to a draw in the 2nd leg of the Champions League at Camp Nou. The following season they improved so it will be very interesting to see what positive changes can be made to the squad over the summer and whether we can bring in the players who both suit and flourish under his counter attacking system.

I believe Nathan A Clark wrote a thread or something like that on Twitter, football has changed since then and Mourinho hasn’t. You can’t just rely to score on counter attacks, there isn’t as much space as before. You need to learn how to build up a attack
