Against a low block Sarr looks the wrong type of midfielder.
Really against a team like Forrest we should be playing Maddison AND Gio but unfortunately Biss isn’t strong enough defensively to cover two more attack minded CM’s.

We've got massive fucking problems and I'm afraid it's coming from the coaching
Watch the build up play, it's the same predictable shit each and every time. The non existent press. At home we should be in their faces, pressing like our lives depended on it and instead we're struggling against Nottingham Forest. Same story Vs Luton. It's hard to swallow but that's our team right now. Not sure it's the quality of the players either. This is ostensibly our best team.

Think we'll win this game but Man city, arsenal and Liverpool are going to kill us if we continue this kind of performance.

Not too keen on our chances against Newcastle or Chelsea either playing like this.

This was always the worry when we appointed Ange for me. Whilst his football has been successful everywhere else the PL is a different beast and we look incredibly naive most weeks.

Teams have adapted to us now and it's Ange and his teams job to counteract that. Fully behind him and of course he should be fully judged after a longer period but there are definite concerns there that I hope he can address as we have looked miles off it for a while now.

Big second half needed!

Forest have conceded the most in the league from set pieces this year, we had four early corners in the match and took them all short....

I know it's the first season in a process / project but that's just not joined up thinking.
Who are we blaming for thst, then?

You just don't really see anyone getting angry on the pitch much, and I still don't think that collectively we have high enough a demand of each other. We can be sloppy, whether it's in terms of passing, positioning or tracking back, and there's no sort of moral consequence, it looks too easily accepted.
I agree. And the only ones that seem to demand any urgency are us the crowd.

Was it like this at Celtic? It's like playing fifa or pro evo
Yea I just replied to that it wasn’t like this at Celtic so it’s a bit strange the last few games how strict it looks in terms of just trying to score the same goal, it is becoming a bit predictable.

It wasn’t like this at Celtic and it wasn’t like this earlier in the season.

I think it’s a combination of lack of quality in attacking areas

Some players quite fatigued

Teams working us out and playing low blocks

Possibly some over coaching on Ange’s part but hard to say exactly what he’s instructing them to do.

Changes at HT needed ideally Bentancur & Gio on for Maddison & Biss but no way Ange makes those moves and so early and it’ll likely be Kulu for Maddison or Sarr around 60-70.

We shall see.

Normally I'd agree but when you play with a high line and commit players forward you have to balance control and guile with legs to be able to get back when the opposition counter.

This is up there with as poor have we have been all season. I posted after West Ham that Ange has a real challenge on as we're not improving at all despite having more fit player and more time vs. our early season form. Lots disagreed, but I maintain I can't see the development in the last 4 months. Not writing him off at all, but I think he needs to accept something isn't working and might need to adapt his approach in some way. Form/confidence is hard gained and quickly lost - we've lost ours so need to be proactive in rediscovering it.

I'd have benched Madders today for example and considered Gio or Deki. Also thought Lolo had a much better game and deserved another start?

it is so important we win this! Never ever like we are playing now will we get anything from Arse, City and pool that is guaranteed 9 points lossed there. Wake the F up!

Out style gives confidence to others, everyone knows they will score at least one and have a good chance of a draw at least. Still think we win though.

It was only a few seasons ago that we were incredible in set piece situations. Now we look so lost when it comes to taking corners.

If we know what the plan is then the opposition sure as hell do
The lack of variation is definitely an issue.

1) Stop us going wide and we’re fucked
2) you know we’ll give away cheap goals

That needs to change, because we’ll never progress beyond a certain point unless it does

Conte was not the right man for us, or even the right Conte.

But he was absolutely spot on about our squad's mentality, and perhaps the club's too.

But we have all been saying this for the last twenty years and it’s hardly been the same group of players. We didn’t win anything under Redknapp or Poch etc because of mentality apparently. The player’s mentality was questioned by Sherwood well before Conte. This season we have loads of players who never played under Conte.

I think we can just say usually we don’t have a squad as good as the teams we want to emulate. That’s the main problem. I guess we could call it a mentality problem, but I think it’s more a depth and quality problem.
