When will people learn that no game in the premier league is a gimme for us. So many comments before the game saying how they want to see us win and predicting 4’s and 5’s, it just doesn’t work like that, we aren’t that good, never have and never will be. We have to work and work hard for every goal we score because we will always concede.

We made heavy weather of it and are a long way off being a top team. Players like Maddison are settled into a comfort zone that is concerning. Plenty of easy-on-the-eye touches, but not focused enough on end product or decisive actions. Likewise for Bissouma for their goal...more worried about a cut back to Townsend left than ensuring the ball doesn't come in.

This is concern at Spurs. Sign hungry players for the next level, but they get comfortable in our surroundings.

We've possibly got a hell of a player in Johnson though. He could share more than being Welsh with Bale.

bissoumas involvement for the goal was diabolical

Missed the game today so would be great of someone could summarise it well please?

However, I read a few comments. Would it be right ro suggest Bentancur and Lo Celso should be close to replacing Bissouma and Maddison?

Missed the game. How did the dragon play?
I thought he did ok, misplaced a few passes early on and a poor clearance but definitely grew in confidence and went on a few good runs. Decent headed clearances generally.

I’m concerned about our form , very happy to get the win but I’m not enjoying what I’m watching . It’s all very bitty , a chance here , a chance there but never really sustained pressure where the opposition can’t get out thier half . We also only seem to have one way to score a goal and that’s the cross along the 6 yard box . Defensively we are a shambles and I wouldn’t be suprised if we took a couple of batterings between now and the end of the season. We’ve regressed as a team , we look lethargic and ponderous in large parts of games . Credit today to Johnson , Romero and Dragusin , decent cameos from lo Celso and bentancur but the rest were not on it . How many needless fouls did we give away today . I’m not sure what the answer is , perhaps the players are just not good enough but I’d be expecting to see performances at this stage of the season and instead I’m seeing 15 mins a game of decent play .

Could we be tired? The constant awesome high octane tempo for 100 minutes a game we had in the first half of the season must take its toil in the Premier League come the run-in. Imagine we had European football and lenghty domestic cups too?

Just seen the extended highlights.

Could have been 5/6 in the second half, not sure what all the whining was about. Clearly in control, team played well.

Gio looked good, moved ball well and did some good defensive work.
Maddison is still miles off where he was start of season.
Could easily see Gio or Kulu playing central instead.
Would still play Sarr ahead of Bentancur at present - great engine, spreads ball well works hard all over pitch.
It's the 3rd midfielder that's the problem to me. Biss has moments but not dominant enough.

Thanks for that mate.

I think all of these aspects are what you'd expect from a team under a new coach.

Players blowing hot and cold. Not knowing what team is the best. Question marks over 11.

I think we should all lower expectations.

The start of the season was very much
New era + New coach with attacking principles + Early season + Momentum

Ange will have learnt a hell of a lot and will be thinking about how to improve that for next season.

But it's important to note that we sit in 5th and have a great chance of CL, which not many contemplated.

9 games to go

He is a breath of fresh air imo. Romero stands still for 15/20 seconds with the ball at his feet, and dragon actually runs, broke their press a few times and knocked a few balls over the top. Romero take note.

I was at the game yesterday and something occurred to me and I wondered if anyone else sees it. Pedro Porro is a very talented footballer but I am growing very frustrated about his inability to keep a shot lower than 20 foot off the ground. He had 4-5 chances yesterday that all went over the bar, I think he should contribute more goals than he does.

Could one of our coaches suggest to Udogie running in to the back of players who are going nowhere and giving away a needless foul is maybe something he could stop doing. Get Kulu in on the same session and it would save about ten free kicks a match

Excellent ref though, perhaps we should import all our officials from Australia
Not sure if I was missing the joke but I thought he had a terrible game. Missed all the niggling ankle tackles on Maddison and Son and destroyed the game by allowing Luton to slow the game down with so called game management.
