I'm not sure what people wanted Dier to do? He was one one one, showed the much faster player to the outside on his weaker foot. Could have got closer but given the confidence levels of the entire team he was just scared of being done by a turn. Not sure what Forster was doing tbh

The whole team is so so so low on confidence.
You get close enough to him and use your arm to push him away. By giving Rashford that space he's allowed him to set himself.

We had three golden chances. Son had a not particularly hard square ball to either Richarlison or Kane for a tap in, Richarlison choosing to cross instead of shoot, and the Perisic one on one.

In general it has been, unsurprisingly, inconsistent. We've been a bit passive at times, got in their faces alright at times. The football has been haphazard and lacking in quality. Nothing of any surprise tbh.

But two soft goals conceded. The first goal is just weak from Porro/Romero again, they must have been at fault for more goals now than the lamented Emerson/Sanchez combo, and Dier might not have the speed, and it's fucking naive from us to get caught 1vs1 at the back you have to say, but he's not close enough and in general a lot of the times that half where they put a move together was when he was two slow to push out and got done and then we were in scramble mode.

Also have to say... If we don't get men in the box, we won't score goals. Son and Kane I am looking at you in particular. Numerous times in that 45 where something went across the box and usually Kane is outside it and Son is making some barmy little convoluted run to get a cutback. RUN AT THE NET SOMEONE. There were a couple of tap ins to be had!
Dier is never close enough. Hes hiding in the middle of our defence living off of blocks and headers, and the rare occasion hes asked to do 1 v1 defending he is found wanting. Just not good enough.

We're otherwise not playing badly imo, we've shown more going forward tham we have done for the whole season under conte.

The players look like they care at least, problem is most of them are fucking useless. Eric Dier is so shit it's untrue, if we give him a new contract I honestly don't know what to say.

Actually it’s getting a lot louder!

the we want Enic out. We want Enic out and get out of our club Daniel levy get out of our club.

And after doing that they headed straight inside at half time and necked a couple of pints.

Skipp and hojberg v casameiro , Fernandes and eriksen . The game was lost before we kicked off , no blame on mason cos whatever team he puts out hasn’t the quality or fitness to play any other way

The problem is you look to the bench and you see Tanganga and Sanchez and you know that won't help anything.

We have our 3 best centre backs on the pitch and our 2 best (fit) wing backs. We also have our only 2 midfielders available on the pitch (bar Sarr).

That is the problem, we have been decimated by injuries.

Lloris out of the team is a start, now we need to take our Dier.

We are still shit though whichever way you flip it.
Personally I think Sanchez would help the Lenglet thing, I can't believe people actually think we should spend money to buy him.

Strange game and an even stranger atmosphere. Some Levy Out chants following United fans’ Glazier’s Out chants. Some positive chants, but boos at half-time. Could easily be 3 each, instead we’re 2 down with some soft defending yet again.

Watching the Southampton-Bournemouth game - far more important from my perspective (as someone originally from the South Coast).

Have we been playing shite? I assume so.

Btw Sanchez stops that second goal.
Yeah Sanchez is comical errors plus pace at least. If we're going to play more positively might as well have him playing. But to be honest, it's got to be worth trying an academy player. Mason won't have the balls though.

Doesn't come across that way on tv to be honest but obviously if someone's at game they'll know better
I think the chants will get a lot more defending in the second half. Fans are sick of it. It’s shocking how poor we are. If this was the beginning of the season we would be bottom!

We were an annual Harry Kane injury away from relegation by the way. Not even joking. If Kane was injured for any extended period of time, we’d be fighting relegation.
