I get taking your foot off the gas to conserve energy, but not if it results in getting run ragged by relegation fodder. I can’t imagine Poch was too impressed with what he saw from 55 minutes on.
I honestly don't think that Soton will be relegation fodder. These will be three very important points, because I think they will start picking up points from other teams. That was the thing about them going so close so often: I see them scoring against our opponents.
I do wonder whether Poch feels conflicted when playing against his old club and eases off.

Shame we can’t polish off these wins with a clean sheet given how at one point with Verts and Toby as our pairing season before last we were pretty tight at the back,

The bit in bold is the clue.

the last 30 mins was as bad as we've played all season. we made southampton look really good.

Need to step it considerably against Leicester or we'll find ourselves back in 5th

I cannot believe we didn't get a CM this summer. Well, I can. But you know.
I think they thought they could get another season out of running Dembele into the ground and then have Waynama take over half way through the season. Happy with the win so open in the last 20 mins.[/QUOTE]

Because we were 3-0 up, we've got a lot of people coming back from injury, we've had a hardcore week, and we're playing again at the weekend. Maybe.

We need more control in midfield we look soft there need dembele or similar replacement ASAP
Keeping clean sheets is not just about the centre-back pairing.
No but we are much better when those 2 play together.

The answer is in here. We don’t have control of the midfield. It’s why we look so disjointed moving forward and so painful in defence.

Sort that and we will be ok, whether that’s buying someone in January or getting Dembele to play or even trying Dele there (I don’t know why we haven’t). But it definitely needs sorting else performances will stay fairly similar in these games.

I'm worried about us playing Leicester as Madison may run riot if we don't get control.

We won despite tonight bring our 63rd game in 3 weeks. It was never likely to be pretty but job done and other results went for us.

I missed most of the first half, so I cannot comment on that half, however, second half we started well, eventually going into a three goal lead, thereafter, i felt that we started playing too deep and gave them quite alot of possession and we were lucky not to concede on a few occassions, thanks to the heroic saves from Lloris. Happy we moved up to third again, COYS!!!!.

Just back from the game - another wonderful night at Wembley.?
We won because when we wanted to press their defence was poor.
After the third we just went through the motions - and Soton could easily have got more than 1.
Another 3 pts though, one less game at Wembley and one closer to NWHL.
Can't wait for that because don't want to keep paying for games like that with no atmosphere and no fans
