Surprised that White and Scarlett aren't playing in this. They could do with more U23 minutes to stay sharp and fit.

Especially when our next game is Saturday and we have Skipp coming back from injury and hopefully available for that game too, meaning white may not get on the bench.

I've said it a few times this season, the results we've been getting are alarming. Not because the results count for much in of themselves but we're in danger of normalising defeat and convincing defeats at that. It's no way to develop confident, ambitious young professionals looking to win things with the club. This is not a weak group of players. We are younger than most but that's a choice. We're choosing not to protect them. I don't feel like this sort of thing happened under Matt Wells or Matt Taylor. I don't want to pile in on Stuart Lewis but something's not right, either that or we've got an absolutely incomprehensible development strategy.

Yeah I was expecting a lot from this group. One baffling thing for me is we’ve got an England age group captain at CB but still conceded she’d loads of goals all season. Obviously one player can’t stop it all but you’d think he may have more influence. I guess next season no hiding place and we will have a much clearer view.

Not just him though, Sayers is highly rated as well and has first team experience with Southend.
