Looking forward to hearing/seeing how the youth teams get on this weekend. Especially the U21s. Will be interesting to see if they're a bit "rusty" given their last competitive fixture was on the 9th.

U21s at home to Peterborough on Tuesday 31st Oct too, which is on Spursplay, that'll be a tough game.

Likely to all have played a few closed doors friendlies in that time, so hopefully not too rusty

Good showing on the pod. My only disagreement was the comparison of Santiago and Gil. Pretty sure if Bryan was playing in the PL2 he'd be ripping it to shreds too.

Would love to see Gil get some game time and solid 90 minutes under his belt with a few games for 21s. Can only see him getting last 5 mins or so in PL and then expect he’ll depart again in January.

I guess when someone deems themselves a "senior player" dropping back down into that level can be pretty damaging to their morale and self-esteem.

If we were not playing until Sunday, I would have agreed to let Gil and Veliz have game time. But we need them on the bench tonight incase they are needed.

But agree, both could do with a run out for the u21s if they play midweek and we don't have a game.

Would he have made the bench though? We have GLC, Gil, Johnson, Veliz who are ahead of him in that sense.

Unlikely when we have most the squad fit again, though technically a few on the bench might be u21s in age still.

Obviously not likely while the others are fit. Turning the question around, who do you leave out in favour of Donley?

Rather interesting Phillips is not with the squad as he was most of the time thois year.

donley was just an example
my point is it would be good for u21 player X to play for the u21s the next day, if on first team bench week after week and not getting minutes
