Cabaye to Palace has been confirmed. Potentially a very good signing for them. If Palace could get a couple of decent CB's and a reasonable striker they could have a good season.

Dann is quality. They just need to keep hold of him and sign someone to partner him.

So Man U linked with muller in the papers today. Who's going to be the next player they are linked with but have no chance of buying?

So far it's been bale, Ramos, schwienstiger and now muller.

Am I missing something or are Newcastle punching well above their weight with Georginio Wijnaldum, too? Some really weird transfers this summer. Payet, Cabaye, potentially Shaqiri etc

Big fan of Wijnaldum as a player, I think that's a coup for Newcastle.

Wijnaldum & Mitrovic close to joining Newcastle & they are leading the race for N'Koulou.

Some joy at last for the Toon Army!

Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph is set to sign for Manchester City. http://bbc.in/1J8Uqib #avfc #,cfc
Delph, why did you need to say this, you moron
On signing his new contract in January, the England international had said he intended to be at the club "for the long run".

"There was no way I was going to bail out," he said at the time.

"This is my club and I want to be here. That's why I am committing my future."

So now he is competing with Fernando, Fernandinho and Yaya Toure. This should be good

It used to be that when players were not regularly playing and were consigned to the "reserves" they would whine and moan, nowadays it seems that they are quite content to sit and count their money.

I've not seen anything in Delph that convinces me he should be anywhere near a club of Citys quality. They need homegrown players, he's happy with a fat pay check, it works for both parties I suppose. It's just a shame that playing football week in week out isn't his motivation, it really speaks volumes about his character.

You have to question players like Delph I feel. Clearly got a very short term view. He made the England squad last year with a shit Villa, surely he can achieve if he stayed at villa for another year. Instead he will stay at City and then and up at West Brom or some newly promoted team.

Only saving grace is Hodgson will still pick him regardless of whether he plays or not.

Good luck trying to resurrect your career in 3-4 years Fabian. Not good enough for us, let alone City.

I guess the thing is, are Aston Villa going to be playing champions league football and challenging for cups in the next five years? Even if they keep Delph and Benteke and all their other good players, no they aren't, unless some sugar daddy buys them and spends a shit load of money. So for players like Delph, who are clearly better than a shit villa team, all they can do is try and have the best season possible in the hope that one of the big teams will take notice and want to sign them, and hope when that happens they can fight their way into the team.

He's obviously seen Adam Johnson's career path and thought 'I'll have some of that!'
