Have seen debates raging across here and social media from people on one hand claiming that keeping Kane, getting Son a new contract and replacing loads of the deadwood with exciting young players means the good times are on their way, whilst others saying that we've failed to strengthen obvious deficiencies in the first team and have left ourselves woefully exposed for cover and backup to key star players.

How do you rate it out of 10? Am keen to see where the majority fits.

Personally - I'd give it a 6. I see this window a bit like some of those we had in the Comolli era where we were building for the future not the present. I can see us having a strong team based around a good young spine of Romero, Sarr, Skipp, Gil and Scarlett in the future, but I don't really see us coming any higher than 5th this season unless Liverpool completely implode again - and that's a best case scenario if we completely ignore all of the cups as we just don't seem to have the depth in attack to compete on multiple fronts. There are gonna be some booooooooooooring games to watch this season too.

Made key signings in the most important area, defence. Held firm on Kane. Got some hungry potential. Got quite a lot of surplus wages out the door.

As I've said elsewhere not getting another forward will prove not to be the end of world stuff some are predicting.

Seveeeen ok some future potential only time will tell if good enough. Did the same under Poch when we failed to win anything in a much weaker league. Have now allowed top 4 to pull away and make it very difficult to close the gap, but what disappoints me is our poor past planning not to cut deadwood sooner and end up giving players away. If we show that ineptitude at work we would be given the elbow and please don't give the pandemic as an excuse, Maureen should have been told get rid and start afresh.

Based solely on the window (impossible to know how new signings will fair as of yet)

I'd suggest we've looked to try and improve a shaky defence.

Goalkeeper back up looks a great bit of business early signs.

Gil has already got the masses talking on what could be. (Personally think he'll be involved a fair bit this season)

it could actually look a pretty good window, but I think that needs to be backed up by underperformers stepping up this season, new signings showing what they're capable of, and a bit of luck on the injury front.

Sorry for the non committal post, but so many variables.

It looks like we've improved our starting XI in two areas, and while it might have been possible to do so in even more areas I think some people might be disappointed solely because expectations were raised after some rumblings that we had a lot of money that wasn't reliant on a Kane-sale. That obviously wasn't the case.
We lost a huge amount of money last season that we had to cover with a loan and we made some potentially shrewd purchases in a strange market and despite that, got rid of several players that I thought we'd be unable to cut loose since so many clubs are in dire straits.

As I went into this window thinking that we'd be lucky to get even one signing in the 20m region and unable to clear out any unwanted players, I give our window a solid 8.

6 because Romero is literally best possible CB we could buy, him plus Emerson make me comfortable that our defense will be fine (helped by Nuno and midfielders).

I would give it 7 if we bought another decent striker and 10 if we bought another creative midfielder and first choice improvement on Bergwijn/Lucas plus got rid of Doherty and Winks.

I like what I've seen from Gil and Sarr should be great one day too but we'll see. Shame we didn't get another youngster like Moriba or any HG talent.

Seven for me. Solid business all round. Need another one or two, but I think we have done better than I expected considering it was Nuno and Fab's first window. Shifted plenty of players that needed to get off the books. Got a new keeper for after Lloris goes, Romero is Toby's successor, bright young talents in Gil and Sarr, and a new attacking RB.

Could we have done with a ST for cover? Sure. A new CM? If Ndombele doesn't step up. Traore? We'll see how Moura and Bergwijn do in Nuno's systems.

So yeah, a 7. Was always going to be a rebuild window, and it wasn't all going to get done in one window.

Like the signings we made and I'm particularly pleased to have a player like Gil at the club who will hopefully get given playing time and develop into one of the players that gets people off their seats.

Generally however I think the squad strength is about the same as it was last season albeit younger. Hopefully Nuno can use the squad better than Jose did and doesn't just leave our more creative players on the fringes like Jose.

Overall it hasn't really moved the needle on where I think we'll finish this season (6-7). Still looking forward to the season though.

Frustratingly Tottenhamesque. Some really promising signings, but equally I can’t shake the sense of opportunities missed in a distressed market; we could have reinforced midfield with a creative player- we’ve struggled to control and consistently unpick opponents since Eriksen’s peak years, and another WF/CF would have taken the burden off of Kane and Son. Three narrow 1-0 victories aren’t a reliable barometer for future success, and the wasteful profligacy of Bergwijn and Moura needs to be addressed if we’re to capitalise on games that could swing either way for us.

I think the true extent of Levy’s promise to rebuild the squad with so called club DNA can probably be more accurately evaluated by the close of the next summer transfer window

Shifted some of the deadwood.
Signed some top talent.
Still some gaps in the squad so more to be done in future windows.

Decent effort IMO. 7/10

7 for me. We got a good number 2 when I was previously concerned if Lloris got injured and we would be left with Hart. I feel a lot more confident with Golloni. We needed a new centre back and right back, we signed 2 of the best in those positions from Serie A and La Liga. We needed a creative midfielder and we have that with one of Spains most exciting Gil.

I would have said we need a defensive midfielder but Skipp has filled that role well. So only a central midfielder to replace Ndombele who has been absent, and a centre forward as cover for Kane would have made it a 9 out of 10. A 10 window is pretty impossible but had we got Martinez as the forward it may have been.

I went 5, think we have improved defensively but are now weaker as a squad offensively in terms of depth. If we suffer injuries we could be in real trouble.

I've gone for a 7. We've brought some players who will hopefully be very good for us in Romero and Gil and I'd like to see gollini have a few league games to see how he does.

Keeping Kane also benefits us and we've shifted some deadwood in aurier and sissoko. Lamela seems to have hit a purple patch since his move showing us what could have been but I think it made sense to move him on. Just a shame we could move winks on.

Think Nuno's biggest challenge will be how to reintegrate Ndombele as we are really missing someone to link midfield to attack and it would be silly to keep him frozen out. Are we able to put him into the ECL squad now Sissoko has gone?

7 for me.
We have some nice additions but some glaring shortages (striker + playmaker)
Time will tell if it's ok.
Also I like the fact that younger players will get chances in the cups and maybe one or two might become diamonds.

Solid 5. Got deadwood out and improved the age profile of the squad. Some smart deals were done but the squad has a concerning imbalance up front that may end up costing us once again. Don’t understand why Carlos Vinicius was not resigned.

Lack of midfield signings probably due to Ndombele being reintegrated into the team.Defence is relying on Sanchez form let’s hope he keeps it up. All in all a window of progress. One or two signings make it the perfect window but it is what it is. Hopefully next summer the don has real money to spend and we can get this show on the road.

I'm giving it a 6.

The rebuild has definitely started. We've shifted a lot of unwanted and unhappy players, and brought in some great prospects. There must be a certain freshness in the dressing room and on the training pitch now.

With Romero, Gil, Sarr, Emerson and Gollini joining Skipp, Sessegnon, Reguilon, Scarlett and Co, we've got lots of talented youngsters and you can sense we're building something.

The frustration is that we still have a few glaring weaknesses in the squad. We still lack a creative midfield playmaker, we're also short of a top class right winger, and we still have no competition for Kane.

It feels like we're destined to perennially be 2-3 players short of ever truly competing.

5 - Its difficult to say the squad is stronger than last year when we have two unproven EPL defenders replacing Serge and Toby (yes highly-rated, but lets hope and see), we have lost goals in Vinicius and Bale and our CM has only gained Skipp - who is a WiP. At best I'd say we're on par and it all depends on whether the imports take to the EPL and excel. For me the most exciting prospect is Gil - he could be some player !

Genuinely think if you’d offered Romero to us end of last season, the general ratings would be so much higher than they are. The expectancy bar raising (Martinez, Kounde), a couple of wins without him and one dodgy ECL appearance. Now he’s just promising.

7.5 for me. The club has taken a huge hit in clearing out the players we wanted to leave. RB and CB were the two main issues, addressed. Attack is a concern, the lack of goals beyond the main two is a concern, but Traore wasn’t solving that, so I respect whoever decided to stand firm on that one. Like the type of player we have brought in, needs to continue in future windows. Solid rebuilding, but nothing drastic.

5. Defence will be much improved but think we will be well short of the 68 goals we scored last season with no creativity. UNLESS Bryan exceeds expectations and/or TN gets his rear in gear

7/10 for me.

11 players have left (Lamela, Sissoko, Cirkin, Alderweireld, Aurier, Foyth, Hart, Gazzaniga, Rose, Vinicius, Bale).
5 have signed (Gollini, Emerson, Romero, Gil, Sarr).
2 loanees returned stronger (Skipp, Sessegnon).
Son signed a new 4 year contract.
Kane stayed.
Dele has been re-invigorated.
The average age of the squad is much healthier, as is the wage bill.

For me it has been a solid first window for Paratici who showed he can be inventive in getting deals done, and can attract top talent (like Romero and Gil).

I am also enthused by Nuno's first pre-season. The team are fitter than they have been for a long time (and it shows on the pitch), and more together than they have been since before the CL final. Sanchez and Dier look like new players. I am confident that Paratici will not stop now the window has and that he will spend the next 9 months speaking with top players and their representatives to identify ways we can improve the team again next summer. If Nuno can 'turn' Ndombele we have a very decent squad.
