Appreciate the effort you've put into this, but I always find these kind of posts just weird. The fantasy football thing is just not realistic. It's easy to assume and assign values for players but there's no basis in it. Doesn't mean that's what we'll end up buying and selling for.

It's never as simple an answer as people believe.

Appreciate your appreciation. I do it as it clears my mind and its a bit therapeutic

Looking at the number of non homegrown players who are not under 21 in the squad there is a total of 19 at the club for a maximum of 17 spots.
Of those I feel 12 are certain to stay,
Vicario
Emerson
Dier
Romero
Porro
Betancur
Bissouma
Lo Celso
Son
Richarlison
Kulusevski
Solomon

3 appear very likely to leave
Lloris
Sanchez
Hojbjerg

Then there are 4 players who I think could stay or leave.
Perisic
Reguilon
Ndombele
Gil

We could keep all 4 and bring in a non home grown CB to make 17.

NOTE: Sarr and Udogie are under 21 players so do not need to be included

There are 12 homegrown players in the squad, we need to include 8 for a complete squad of 25 players registered.

Of those 12 I feel 4 are definitely staying
Forster
Skipp
Maddinson
Davies

Then there needs to be a 3rd goal keeper so at least one of Austin and Whiteman should make the squad.

If Kane stays then that is another place taken

That leaves 2 or 3 places for the following players to fight for
Austin or Whiteman - whoever is not 3rd goalkeeper
Tanganga
Rodon
Spence
Sessegnon
White

And that is before we sign anybody such as a homegrown CB like Tosin Adarabiyio.

So we definitely have far too many players.

We certainly have a big squad and with us not being able to shift a lot of the one's we would like out I don't expect any more big signings. We will probably have to wait for the next window.

Not only that but far too many people totally forget that Tottenham NEVER solve every issue in one window.

I reckon we will fall short on a Kane replacement and may only get one CB plus Phillips.

There is always an excuse and there will be one this time.
Personally I will be surprised if we bring in even one new CB. With Lenglet now signed the CD with probably be any 3 from 4 Romero, Lenglet, Dier, Davies.

It seems to me this is the current state of play of the squad when considering PL squad size and HG quota's. Its interesting to see the decisions that need to be made regarding transfers in and keeping the squad size

Good job @MrExcel. Living up to the name.

My guess is, in addition to those listed: Spence (sell or loan), Scarlett (loan), Devine (loan), Gil (sell or loan) one of Dier/Tanganga (sell or loan) and maybe Reguilon (sell).

That would get us down to a 22 man squad with spots for 2 more CBs. If we keep one of the above then we're up to 25.

I was going to say this would be great if I could see it but then realised it was because I view the site in dark mode *face palm.

It’s possible we lose all of winks, kane, sess, Spence & tanganga. I don’t think hg will be an issue this season but thinking for the future we need to make as many signing as possible hg from now on. Not just for squad rules, it’s also important to have a core of British players at an English club for connection to the fans and the club history.
When we are back in Europe CT will be a particular issue. Wouldn’t surprise me if we tried to bring ccv back once he’s over his injury.

Ange talked up Davies as LB in a presser so I’d say it’s him and destiny so we’d sell Reggie & sess (when fit)

And one last try at throwing the kitchen sink at Aitch. the keys to the kingdom, the rebuild and restructure that a team he plays in deserves.
Please Mr Levy.

I definitely don't think HG is a concern this year, but it may need to be addressed next year. I think our HG right now are: Kane, Maddison, Parrott, Skipp, White, Davies, Tanganga, Rodon, Spence, Sessegnon, Forster, Austin, Whiteman. So, 13 right now. Even with some exits, we're fine this year. But, how many do we expect to be here to start next season? I think Maddison would be the only player I would express very high confidence in being here next season. I would expect Skipp, too, and then maybe Davies and/or one of Whiteman or Austin. But, I wouldn't be surprised if basically everyone else was gone (if we ever figure out how to sell players).

There are a few academy players that are turning 21 this year as well, but it's hard to predict what may happen with any of them: Matthew Craig, Nile John, Maksim Paskotsi, and Josh Keely are the ones I feel like I've heard the most about. Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, Max Robson, and Yago Santiago also are or will be 21. Not sure I would be that confident that any of them move into the first team (our best academy players seem to be a bit younger).

Tl;dr: I agree HG not an issue this year, but probably worth the club doing some planning for it to potentially be an issue next year.

Does anyone else think that if (when) Aitch was to go and if we have Richie up top with the wide forwards in place in the squad; that having Perisic around will be invaluable if he is used in his original winger position ? I think he could be really important for us and can to some degree play off both flanks.
For our centre forward spot it would be Richarlison, Scarleet and maybe one other plus Son, Solomon, Deki and Gil ? Does that leave us one forward short ?

Were a RW short imo, no idea but can Solomon play there? if he can we might be able to get by, unless the young striker we sign is in the Son mould where he can play wing and ST
Also another option could be Porro?
ST- richarlison & young striker
LW - son & Solomon (Gil?)
RW- Kulesevski & ( Solomon?)

Hadn't thought of Porro but that could work too.
