————————— Lloris
——— Romero - Dier - Davies
Kulu —— Bentancur — Hojbjerg —— Reg
——— Bergwijn —————— Son
————————— Kane

Personally I think this is the most logical team to choose. Conte has said Kulu can play RWB and seeing as he’s now hit some pretty poor form after being excellent in a front 3 with Kane and Son, I think it’s right to try him somewhere else. Bergwijn should be the one to come in.

We all know though that Conte will pick the exact same team that drew yesterday and we’ll likely see a repeat of the same performance we’ve seen for the last 180 minutes.

A team with 2 Romeros gets a thumbs up from me :)

Conte should give Bergwijn a chance. I don't understand why he doesn't give him any game time.

Time to try Kulu at RWB and bring Bergwijn in.

We look so toothless currently

I didn’t like the look of Kulu at right wing back so a bit worried about him potentially playing there. Could Romero not do a job there until the end of the season and we could play Sanchez at RCB? Romero is decent on the ball, likes to get forward and has an eye for a forward pass.

I agree but if he hasn’t used him for more than a few mins in the last two games when were desperate I can’t see it happening, unfortunately. It feels like we have players on the bench just for the sake of it.

I can only guess that the die has been cast on Stevie and he will be leaving in the summer (probably back home) and so Conte would rather entrust players that will still be here next year and leave SB as a break glass in emergencies option?
Shame because i believe we would have performed better in the last two games if Bergwijn had played for an extended period (not just injury time)

I'm gonna mix it up a bit (within Conte's preferred system...)

Hugo

Romero, Dier , Davies

PEH
Moura* Bentancur Sess

Son Bergwijn
Kane
*TBH Moura scares the shit outta me at RWB as his pace comes in bursts and then requires massive rests between sprints, also i could see him being done by around 60 minutes, but we need to try something different.

Or (not in Conte's system)

Hugo

Royal, Romero, Dier, Davies

PEH, Bentancur

Kulu*

Son, Kane, Bergwijn
I feel Kulu could link up better with the front 3 and midfield from this position and switch with Kane at times.

Looking at all these formations you realise how lucky Liverpool are to have 2 fantastic wing backs AND still be able to play 3 energetic central midfielders behind their brilliant front 3.

In order, I would try the following players at RWB in place of Royal.

Stevie
Lucas
Romero
Rodon
Lavinier

The rest of the team pretty much picks itself.

I dislike Rodgers intensely, mostly because of his face, which I know is unfair and irrational (my feelings, not his face) but I have no doubt that as a coach he’ll have looked at our performances, and will choose a formation and team that he thinks will be best suited to beat us on the day. Seems obvious, doesn’t it? But I’m much less confident that our world class manager will be doing anything similar. That’s sad, isn’t it? Or fucking criminal, perhaps?
