Words for everyone to remember:

"Ash is part of the first team. He trains every day. He's available for selection. If he gets an opportunity, then it will be up to him," he said. "I'm not going to manufacture things for people. Everything they get, they earn.

"If they are selected I think it's because I think they can help us win. If they're not selected, they have to keep working hard and wait for their opportunity."

I think everything that happened Monday has lowered expectations and we all knew at some point we’d see a lot of these players just not all at the same time. I’m excited for it though.

I’d go:
Vicario

Porro——Phillips——Dier——Royal

Bissouma
Sarr———PEH

Kulusevski—-Son——Johnson

We might just have to work a bit harder covering the back line so PEH in. The players all say that it doesn’t matter who fills the spots during the match as long as they keep the overall structure. so maybe it’s one where Porro can get high up right instead of inverted, Sarr can slot into that “inverted” position and Deki can move more central to be creative.

Vic
Porro Phillips Dier Emerson
Biss
Sarr PEH
Kulu Sonny Johnson

the opposition fans boiled piss when we win 3-0 and Phillips shows he's immense will be hilarious.

Ali Gold has gentle Ben at CB with Dier. he's usually fairly spot on.

i think that's a mistake if true, but Ange knows what he's doing more than I.

If Ange is going to stick with back 4, then Dier Davies is the most obvious Ange will go. Phillips I am sure will be in bench.

I expect Bentancur to get his first start too

If its a back4, my XI :

Vicario
Porro Dier, Davies, Emerson
Sarr Bissouma, Bentancur
Kulu Son Johnson

If I’m GLC, I’d be very disappointed not to start and show AP what I can do in my preferred position.

I’m with you, I think Davies alongside Dier at CB will be an absolute disaster. I’d much rather see Hojbjerg at CB or that we give Phillips a chance.

I’d go for the closest like for like players we have in the squad. I’d bring Phillips in for VDV, I don’t know too much about him but seems to have similar skill set, pace and strength, it’s up to him to prove he is up to it, harsh of Davies maybe but not enough pace for him and Dier to play together, who has to cover Romero. Royal to play LB.

GLC should get his chance to play in the 10, again up to him to prove he con do it at PL level.
id keep the rest of the team the same.

Though, it's a reflection on how well he's performing in training if he doesn't, right? Same quote as about Philips from Bluto applies.

I'd prefer to think Ange would go braver than that. Same team except Holjberg and Phillips at CB, should be much more suited to pushing up.

Even if that were the best fit for the game and even though Ange is as brave a manager as you'll get, for squad harmony and keeping Dier and Davies motivated while we may need them....there is no way he goes for both a CM *and* an academy player before either of them

Davies played some of pre season so if it’s not Phillips he’s the best choice imo.

If it is Davies he'll be fine there. He's good on the ball, as is Dier. Both have the ability to join the midfield and start attacks.

Davies and Dier at CB is very slow so we will for sure get exposed today but if we dominate the ball a lot and keep 11 men then I’m hoping they won’t have too much defending to do.

I can see why Ange has picked this team to be fair, let’s see how it goes, no Manager is perfect, personally I’d have gone with Phillips for some pace but Ange has 26 years top level coaching experience and sees the players train every day so we should probably trust his judgement, he’s certainly by far earned our trust so far!

1-2 to spurs. Sonny & BJ
