Anderson out of the remaining SA Tests. Makes selection easier, with Archer now fit.

If you’re looking at Bucket List entries then a day with the Barmy Army needs to be on it, one of the funniest days I’ve ever had!

done many times in this country - the best being at Edgbaston. would dearly love to do an away test though, Carribean or Down Under ?

The origins of the Barmy Army were as a touring supporters group which as it’s notoriety grew found itself being used during home seasons.
Quite a few of the guys I was with in NZ in 2002 would spend the summer months back home working their backsides off then disappear to wherever we were touring for six months!
It was amazing to see so many people from different backgrounds and generations all with the one intention of watching cricket and having a laugh!

From memory they started in the early 90's when I used to play against Old Hamptonians. A few of their boys had a hand in getting it off the ground

I was in Oz in 06/7 for Flintoffs memorable tour!! Happy Dayz but when your getting murdered 5-0 the crack isn’t quite the same and you can’t sledge the Aussies as much as you'd like to

Agreed, I was there in 13/14 for the Boxing Day Test, already 3-0 down I think it was. Still had an absolute blast, great fun.

That was a cracking test, you can't get that drama in a shorter game, had some real tense moments, loved how sky (after the altercation with Buttler and Philander) just focused/zoomed in on Jos' face for the next few balls

Stokes is such a great bowler to have around, he can bend his back and get over 90mph can hoop it around both ways (including reverse) if he could get a run of fitness (where he's not grabbing some part of his body every over) he could easily become our most lethal bowler. and his batting speaks for itself.

Re' the barmy army, as much as i like those old fools i have to fast forward through Jerusalem every first over, and the self congratulations afterwards, yeah well done, you gave everyone a bad rendition of a song they never want to hear again, now fuck off and get some beers you lobster faced ****s (ok maybe a bit harsh )

Here's hoping Archer can actually bowl straight and fast in the third test and ease the loss of Jimmy.

Seems about right to me, can't say I haven't thought as much :D

I find Butlers comments over the top unwarranted and disproportionate . Maybe I'm old fashioned or a bit of a soft person.
I find sledging OK but this I find distasteful.

Buttler looked proper pissed off though so something more must've gone on?
There was talk of some aggro when Buttler was batting, but also Buttler has a bit of an angry side to him, apparently he was smashing up the changing room after getting out in the World Cup final.

I know what you mean. Wasn’t sledging as we know it. More like Buttler being really pissed off and losing the plot for a minute. Was over the top handbags stuff from Josh

I’m sure he apologised later and
they kissed and made up

JB is definitely a door slammer!!
