In The Sun today they're saying Mancini has told him he can leave and that the Gooners are a possibly destination.

Mancini seems to me to be saying he's perplexed as to why Bridge would stay at Man City when he's not getting any game time - basically implying he has no playing ambition IMO.

He last started a game for City in October 2010 apparently, didn't realise it was so long ago and don't think he's even in their 25.

I remember he was like this at Chelsea too, seemed happy to just sit back and take the money and it's a shame as in his Southampton and early Chelsea days he was a pretty top-notch left-back but seems to have really dropped in standards in recent years.

I think if he sorted his head out and worked hard he could still be a very good left-back but I think tbh that he is weak mentally and probably has a poor attitude.

the last part is partially true, he once was a good left back.
He knows that staying where he is he doesn't have to do anything but sit on his arse every weekend and watch football from the stands, when he looks at his bank account i bet he doesn't feel mentally weak, i bet in fact he pisses himself laughing about the fact he got someone to give him a contract and pay him between 80 and 90 thousand pounds a week to go to football training five days a week plus he will only get a reasonable move at the end of his contract, he'll say that he couldn't get a look in at city but still has it etc and will probably get 50 grand a week at another club  mental isn't it!

He showed that when he went to west ham on loan he couldn't keep up anymore.

He's become the new Winston Bogarde.

And no, he isn't even in City's 25. And his shocking spell at West Ham last season has scared off all clubs he would be interested in going to.

I would massively Bogarde it if I were in his shoes. Not that me wearing his shoes would make me a decent footballer. Oh wait, that would make me exactly as good as Wayne Bridge.

I don't blame him to be honest. Why should he move clubs and take a massive pay-cut? City offered him a contract, they need to honour it and stop moaning about him.

Please, please sign him Arsene.

It will just prove, once more, how we have overtaken them in the North London standings.

I think Kim Kardashian blew him out for someone else!

But Frankie from The Saturdays is indeed. :hump:

I just don't understand why he's gone so shit, he was a very good left-back.

I know he's on mega-money and I guess we would all be happy to receive such ludicrous amounts of money for doing pretty much fuck all, but where's the honour?!?

Surely a part of him must realise how shit he has become and want to try and get back to what he once was??

Mancini clearly thinks he's a waster.

Funny that Bridge doesn't understand why he's being "isolated" by Mancini,... uh, just that he's not good enough to make the citeh top 25 and should leave...

Motivated by money? Well duh,... he's not going to get those wages in the championship, where he belongs... sure arsene, sign him up so we can watc him get torced every week end!!

Question is: Is Bridge a has been or a never was?

Not very Christmas like, but the bbc rumor section set me off on a mini rant :violin:

What do you mean by that?

The guy was horrendous at West Ham, unfortunately he had one good game and that was against us!

Footballer likes the cash a bit more than the game. Hold the front page. Mancini can shut up too, he's on the same obscene payroll, bit late to act surprised on how a few quid can change a person.

Crass football club pays obscene wages to an ordinary footballer and it goes wrong.
So he should do the decent thing and play for West Ham for a bag of jellied eels, I think not.

I mean basically he is way beyond what he would personally (i expect) be his best and if he would still want to play in the prem, at what is still a relatively young age he would be made to look a fool on most weeks. You cant play a handful of games over 3 years and expect to perform at a high enough level to warrant a wage resembling anywhere near what he is getting now

I don't think many would have felt sorry for him even after that interview. If he wants to play football, take a pay cut, if not just do a Winston Bogarde and pick up the cash. Not as if he wouldn't be earning 40,50k somewhere else, might just get by on that.
