Personally don't expect we'll see much more on the incoming side until we have shipped a few out. Not sure i buy all this 'Itk' on the financials but simple logic dictates the business and squad sense of trimming first so we know what we have to play with.
The midfield is the most complex. We must retain cover for Sandro but will Jake stay? Can we keep Parker just for that role? Tommy C needs to play- loan? For me, the only definite sale is Hudd. The rest is a bit of a chess game
I'm not so sure I think incoming is the priority and we'll do them whenever we can, the outgoing will just recoup money.

On a serious note though am I the only one who is not bothered by the latest ITK? Maybe moving off some deadwood first would allow for us to have more funds for other areas that need improving?

As ITK has mentioned we are looking for:

Striker
Wide Forward
Left Back

Lets assume our budget before we signed lil P'inho was 40 million pounds, Factor in his purchase and we are left with a handsome 22 odd million pounds for the rest of the positions. Now I know to some that isn't even enough for Benteke but It doesn't need to be. A quick search of transfermarkt and my own knowledge of a few players and I have come up with a list of possible targets:

Striker (Carlos Bacca 8 million euros)
Wide Forward (Adem Ljajic 12 million euros)
Left Back (Aly Cissokho 6 million euros)

Carlos is a fucking awesome name, and he was the highest scorer in the Belguim first division last season, Adem can double as a creative midfielder/left wing and We all know about Cissokho even though I'd rather have Rose step up to first team. Now if I can do that with such a minimal budget why are you all worried about Baldini's ability to do even better?

If we can purchase 3 players for those positions i'll be over the moon. Not sure about your choice of players but lets see what happens.

this Ali Z ITK snippit is rather depressing and all too familar

I really hope we get our deadwood sold and key incomings sorted before the season starts with only additional last min bargins being left til the end of the window

Don't want to have an incomplete team scrapping for points early doors with new players taking time to bed in right through to Christmas

Get a full summer of training together and preseaon fixtures to start the season on a high hopefully

Be interesting to see if the addition of Baldini makes for soother more efficient transfer dealings or if it still ends up being the same old song
I agree - but I am very much afraid that the influence of one Daniel Levy will override everything

Think it depends on the position personally- we need a striker as a priority, and we don't necessarily need to sell to bring one in. I can't see us signing a left back without having a deal in place for benny or rose to go though

I still don't know why all the fuss yesterday anyway the latest ITK confirmed we are looking for the positions we know we need and that effectively we will be selling to recoup money we spend on the purchases all good stuff I reckon. Apparently someone I know nothing about and that we may or may not have been interested in went to Everton but nothing too bad there.
Imagine being a Man City fan they were looking at Falcao and Cavani and are now reduced to chasing Negredo and they've got all the money in the world.
The fuckwits shouldn't have sold Tevez then.

Yea - I was thinking maybe it will show us whether our issues in the transfer market are Levy caused or just a fact of our own financial restrictions as a club trying to run itself well

I was hoping Baldini's appointment would result in a return to the policy of buying young potential talent that got us where we are in the first place instead of trying to pay big money for established players we cannot attract or compete with clubs we cannot compete with in terms of wages and CL football/challenging for titles

I guess Levy will ultimately hold on to the final say so to speak so maybe not a lot will change

I really hope we don't spend all window failing to sell our deadwood because we demand fees no one will pay and chase targets we can't sign or offer money clubs won't accept and end up making moves of desperation at the end of the window for anyone who's available and loosely fits our needs

It's been far too long since we addressed our striker situation and its been holding us back

I thought Carlos Bacca recently signed for Sevilla? Milan have been linked to Ljajic so that could be a difficult deal and I know very little about Cissokho so can't really comment

I am sure between AVB's time scouting around the world post Chelsea job and Baldini's connections in football and experience in international markets we must be able to come up with numerous viable options for the poistions we need to upgrade - we can't keep trying to sign players who won't come to us without CL football or bigger wages, we need to unearth a gem or two in the way we signed Bale/Modric/Berbatov - players who are obviously talented but not yet on the radar of the bigger clubs (only problem is now days with the oil money there are more clubs trying to hoover up such players, its not just the likes of Man U you have to hope don't have your target on their radar)

This is the kind of scouting and signing we used to to when we had Arnesen and Commoli!

Paulinho was a great start, I think we'd all be pleased with a few signings from left field like this!
