Before you buy your Levy voodoo dolls , can I make it crystal clear this is not down to Levy, but the players and agents

Beautiful, just when the gingers were climbing up on that big, high horse, you untied the saddle!

Well played Sir.

Fazio out, Carroll out, N'jie in. I regard all of this as positive news.

Forget the personal opinions on whether or not you rate the individual players concerned, what is encouraging is that we seem to be identifying the players who will and won't fit in to Poch's preferred system. You can't play a high line with Fazio in the defence, Carroll doesn't have the physique to play as 1 of a CM2 and is a long way down the list to play further forward, and N'jie adds much needed pace and creativity.

We'd all like a quality DM and a back up to Kane but the way this transfer window has progressed so far leads me to believe that for once we actually have a plan :wideyed:. Even a bad plan is better than no plan at all.
...Hmm. Not too sure about this!:cautious:

So has berahino done part of his medical or not, I wonder.

Personal opinion here, I think he did........ the source on that one is good. Very good.

Does this kind of thing happen a lot? We must have done it with a huge degree of confidence that we'd sign him but apparently there's a 10m difference in valuations.

The trouble is that "part of his medical" could cover so many things.

He might genuinely have carried out part of his medical on the presumption he was close to signing.

Or he might have tried out some of the equipment at the training ground and/or medical centre, which might have given indicators about his fitness levels.

Or Levy might just have cupped his balls and told him to cough while they were walking round.

We just don't know.

Not being in the sporting industry, but sort of being in the 'medical industry', I understand that medicals are a bit more complicated than before and sometimes involve more than one type of test and different types of healthcare professionals - like someone to look at fitness, someone to give an opinion on joint problems etc. So it's quite possible that Berahino had a part of this done in anticipation of a deal that for whatever reason hasn't yet been announced. Willian springs to mind and worries me...

It is weird that it hasn't been announced/agreed, as we tend to associate a 'medical' as a formality prior to signing and that most players pass. But maybe sometimes the buying club has particular concerns it wants to assess (like a dodgy knee, or an irregular heart beat) and arranges for that to happen during negotations?

[On a side note and nothing to do with Spurs, one of my current bosses in Surrey was literally on his mobile phone to Jose Mourinho perhaps 3 months ago as he was seeing a CFC youth player (don't know who) in a private clinic and hadn't been able to give a "he's definitely fit to play" answer so ended up with having a phone conference with JM and the Chelsea Medical team. He (my boss) enjoys name dropping as he tells me all about his skiing trips with Damon Hill and seemed to enjoy the look on my face when he answered the phone with "Ah, Jose, just give me one sec - it's Jose Mourinho on the phone, I'll be in my office, call me there if you get into any trouble". Poser.]

I can't even get excited about N'Jie because I am so upset about Carroll. Thought for sure he showed enough in preseason for a real shot at the first team this season. Always wonder what could have been with him.

Grey Fox ITK to me suggests Levy is gonna play the waiting game on Berahino and the CDM.

The question is, if this backfires and WBA stand firm at £20m+ does he pay up to not leave us short?

We haven't heard of alternatives from other ITKs yet so I guess we are confident of them buckling. Dangerous game.

Reckon City will snap him up last minute, which is probably what Berahino and his people are hoping for.

Well Lennon and Bobby can always come back into the fold so whatever.

But perhaps we should've kept one of paulhino, capoue or stambouli until its certain we sign a replacement.

Dembele, mason, ali and bentelab looks a little light going into 4 competitions

Unless Poch really does see Dier as a valid option.

Have we ever sold a player that's gone on to be amazing? Players that we weren't forced into selling

Doubt it if Scout was so convinced he was coming here. Sounds to me like the player has made his mind up to come here but West Brom are hoping for more.

FWIW, and I haven't heard a lot on this one, but I get the impression West Brom actually want to sell him, if he won't sign a new deal, and as of now he won't.

I don't know about amazing, but we have sold players that have done well once we sold them. Gylfi comes to mind. We just never had a place for him.
