We don't usually hear much about outgoings until they actually happen, in my recollection. There's plenty of time to find homes for those surplus to requirements before the deadline.
About 30% of a transfer window I reckon:).

Would much rather we not wait until January for a winger in order to sign Rodriguez. Too much can happen in 4 months. Plus, players brought in mid season dont historically have that big of an impact. We need a winger now! Not 4 months from now! We want to bring in Rodriguez in 4 months, great. As long as that doesnt stop us from signing someone now. Sign someone now and sell Lennon. Sign Rodriguez in January and sell Townsend.

Pretty clear that the defender being sold is Naughton and the midfielder is one of the 4 listed earlier(if Schneiderlin comes). The start of the season thing cant be right since the chairman said Schneiderlin and Rodriguez will still be Southampton players on September 1st. Only way for him to save face is if they are not sold.

We still need to bring in a first team center back, right back(if it is Naughton being sold) and a winger this window. Dier is probably going to be a cup player with some u21 appearances. Dont think he'll play much PL this year. Same with Veljkovic(if he's not loaned out). We need a first teamer to go along with Kaboul, Verts, Vlad and Dawson(think he's going to keep refusing to leave, unfortunately).

I wholeheartedly disagree with your desire to sign anyone and everyone in positions we don't have two starters for. We shouldn't be looking at two starters for each spot, so bringing in a LW and a RB just seems unnecessary when we can promote from within. We just can't afford to have two starters in each spot - we can't afford the fees and we can't afford the wages.

We should always look to promote from within unless there's a good enough deal to be made, the manager needs a certain player, or we cannot find a player of the same quality within the reserves.

We have multiple plays who can play the left wing, including Chadli & Townsend. Even Lennon and Eriksen can play there. Why do we need another? LW is a luxury buy.

If Naughton leaves we have Fredericks. He's almost 22. If we don't trust him as the backup now when will he? Will we loan him out to other clubs and hope they play him? I hope not. That has backfired. We need to be in charge of the development of all of our players and with that said we need to keep the important players close to the club. Don't loan them out like Carroll and watch them ride the bench in their most important formative years. Instead have him play week-in week-out with the youth and start/sub in vs various Europa League clubs, lower half prem teams, and early domestic cup ties.

We're going to be competing on four fronts early on and the only way we'll be able to succeed is if Pochettino puts his trust in the youth. Sherwood did, and it worked out quite well. We need to continue that. Those players deserve to play in the first team and, for players like Fredericks, the time to move into the first team is now.

Naughton wants to leave. Fredericks can be good enough. Dier can also play RB in a pinch. We'll be fine with those three, and Fredericks is still HG.

Report on twitter saying deal agreed for Musacchio for 19million, not sure if that's pounds or euro's, probably not true but just thought it worth mentioning, I'll post it in his thread as twitter isn't allowed here.
