this is true, but we’ve been burnt so many times - still makes me nervous.

What gets me is not only getting stuff done early, but the kind of business we're doing. These will be two statement signings that show the rest of the league following the cash injection and Conte's commitment we are going for it next season.

IF these 2 come in (perisic/bastoni) early that’s a huge chink in our armour sorted, add to that possibly eriksen and a couple more ?

Perišić has all the contracts ready and has already made it known that he is ready to sign for Tottenham.

i hope he isn’t stringing us along for inter to increase their contract offer. Or for chelsea to swoop in.

Hasn’t been much mention of Eriksen but certainly Forster and Spence are sounding close from ITK/media. If those 4 happen it’s a huge squad improvement

I think you're underestimating what McKennie would bring in a Conte system. Genuine box to box midfielder who's got a knack of being right place/right time. Conte has wanted him for sometime at Inter...now the mighty Tottenham Hotspur from White Hart Lane!!

I was, due to living in Middlesbrough and being told by fans here, a little critical on Spence. Just because they seemed so keen to move him on. But I think he’s looked great everytime I have seen him play.

His issue at Boro was apparently a bad attitude. Thought he was too big for the club. I am sure playing at Spurs under Conte will help knock that out of him.

Yeah, I'm not completely enthused either. He's been average each time I've watched a full match. But if Conte and Paratici have identified him as 'the one', who am I to argue. Besides, attitude problems are not unheard of in young players. Most mature and leave that behind them. From all recent reports, that's what Spence has done.

How good is Spence? Is he one for the future or would we expect him to fit straight in and deliver the levels that Conte demands?

Spence is still very young and very raw. Let him develop under a world class coach and see how he goes. If it didn't work out then there's still enough time in his career to make something of himself elsewhere.
