CAUTION
If we bring in these youngsters, have a fear for ours. Just saying…

This makes sense.

If some of our younger players can't see a pathway through to the first team, they will more than likely look for moves away.

It's unfortunate, but not every player from the academy will make it here.

However, I trust Ange and the club to know what youngsters will be ready for the step up and hopefully, they won't let any slip through the cracks.

Nusa probably would probably primarily affect Gil. It feels like he will probably be on his way out regardless tho. Mozambo however could affect Donley one would think.

Does Muzambo not also look like he could play on the wing, he looks like he could be very versatile.

Hopefully we pick the correct youngsters to keep and the others get a good move elsewhere if that is how it goes.

Can someone give me the low down on Antonio nusa please 😊
Are you serious now?

Been clear since his Norway debut that he will become a star. I have said it before, he would be absolutely perfect for us. Brilliant talent!

Has outshined Bobb, Ødegaard and Haaland the times he has played, and still only 18.

Oh god I don’t want to read any further, I’m afraid I’ll get hurt.

He is versatile but I was talking to my Ajax mate about him and he was saying that he’s very much an AM who can also play CM. He’s played LW but it’s not a natural position and ends up drifting central because it’s where he feels comfortable operating. He’s best central is essentially is what I’ve been told.

As I said I personally haven’t seen any full games of him but I know he’s been playing in a CM three and statistically his numbers are better central which backs up my friends perspective.

Genoa want cash 💵 and I was told earlier at 5 pm that we could see a breakthrough soon ! This Napoli stuff has always been there since we entered talks and they are trying to convince Genoa to do all types of bogey deals ! The player has also agreed to come here obviously it ain’t done until he’s holding the shirt but the club remain confident

Worth bearing in mind that at the start of next season Maddison, Bissouma, and Bentancur will all be 27.

Lo Celso, if he stays, will be 28.

We play a very intense and athletic style of football.

Not only will we use depth and rotation back in Europe, but we want to avoid a Liverpool problem where their entire midfield ages out at the same time, and each direct replacement costs £60-80m.

We also want to be able to loan Donley etc out at some point without them being stuck in the 7th CM graveyard shift.

I think you pack the youth squad with talent and the best will get their chance. If that means losing some along the way that is the price of trying to get the best in the first XI. There are a number of options with the youth players, we can be like chlesea and loan out many, we could also be like them and city and view the academy as a profit making business to support investment using them to offset FFP or, we can sell on at low prices to championship and low/mid prem teams with a very reasonable buy-back first option so if they do get regular prem football and become future stars we just bring them back. As others have said its a good problem to have. For too long we have looked at the youth setup and identified 1 or 2 who could make it (Carrol, Winks, Townsend, Kane, Skipp, Livermore, Onomah, Barnard et al, ) each time there is one player in the youth setup we think will make it, all got their chance and, excluding the obvious one, most have had limited impact. Truth is its incredibly difficult to make it at the highest level and we are talking at Spurs about being in the top 10 clubs in world football (or there abouts when you consider the strength of the prem at the moment) so the talent has to be in the top 0.5% of all youth players realistically. Therefore you need to cast the net wide and not rely on the kids we scouted at 7 or 8 in the local clubs. I would love some of this very good U21 team to come through but also accept that many have reached their peak level already so picking gems up from abroad is also vital.

If we were to sign more 19-22 year old players and we hit like we have udogie/vdv/sarr at the expense of minutes for the youth academy im all for it, again in the context of this team trying to establish itself firmly in the top 3.

As you say the reality is there isnt a conveyor belt of ledleys and kanes being held back, it is not that beneficial for us to develop more Tom Carrolls/skipps/tangangas if we want to be at the very top.

Sign the right player, or promote the right player, its about the player not where he came from.

Last update on this tonight

We were hoping to wrap things up today, but we're still in the game. Negotiating with the seller is a bit tricky; they're trying to get the most out of it, involving other clubs. The fees are getting close, just a couple of million apart. Talks will keep going this weekend to nail it down. Napoli is in the mix too, but financially, Tottenham has the upper hand, especially with Napoli using players to convince Genoa.

Good news – Dragusin prefers us. Player terms are sorted, but Davies' injury and Eric Dier's potential departure put some extra pressure on the board to get it done. Especially with Napoli adding their weight, Tottenham's feeling pretty sure about sealing the deal. Fingers crossed for a conclusion soon!

Werner......wow! Out of the blue! Could be a very exciting signing under Ange! Love this kind of signing, his name had never been mentioned to me.

That German fuck of a reporter saying we are close to signing Werner on loan

He's been ahead of the others with the recent Dier news so it's probably true.

Utility loan while we have Son and Veliz out. Don't think it's more than a stop gap striker. There is a player there, hopefully we get him...
