The thing about subscriptions is you don't want to discourage any "new customers". Best way to do it would to offer everyone limited access to the site but maybe keep the transfer rumours section for subscibers. That way the RO section can be used to lure in new subscribers who want to discuss any links.

People buy into the concept of a "community" too so offering some shiny trinkets to subscribers would probably go down well (SC keyring or badge or some other cheap spurs paraphernalia) or facilitating social gatherings on game days. This could work in conjunction with a local pub where members get a "free beer" token on the assumption that they will drink a lot more than just one in that establishment.

Anyway I'm sure you guys know what's best for the site in the long run, I'm just wanging on in an attempt to avoid doing any actual work.

In all honesty, i have never donated. However, i always use the affiliates page for amazon. If you can get sportsdirect in there aswell, or kitbag then those are regular visit/purchase sites, for me at least....

But then you run the risk of reduced advertising revenue because you don't get the numbers.
