Not sure that's entirely true. I think it's fairly obvious to everyone that we're after another striker and I'm (surprisingly) 100% confident one will be coming in.
I just think a lot of ITKs haven't been quite as forthcoming with the names we're after whereas Dragon is.

No I agree that's why I was saying get a cheaper deal done now. It's only a backup after all.

I'm amazed we haven't been working on a striker deal since the moment Kane got injured again and it became so blindingly obvious how insane it is to only have one centre forward at the club. It should have been ready to execute the moment the window opened.
How many more times do we need to leave ourselves in this situation to learn the lesson? With the England games included Harry is going to play a frankly preposterous number of matches in a truncated time frame and will be in the red zone of injury likelihood essentially from week one of the season. Given he's off the back of a very serious hamstring injury the likelihood of him doing it again is significant.
Right now with our schedule we can barely afford to play Kane and Son in the same matches. They may have to rotate because we simply can't afford to take the risk of burning them out by playing them more or less every other day for 3 weeks. That's what we're faced with if we don't get a striker before the season starts. 9 games in 21 days!
Other than dragon I'm getting the vibe from the itk that the striker deal is very much dependent on sales, which means it'll drag-on (boom boom) until October. That in my view would be amazingly negligent, but sadly would also be absolutely standard practice.

I guess it comes down to who their sources are. Ally gets his info from the club, or at least seems to be almost like an unofficial mouth piece. He breaks the news the club wants people to hear. Dragon's source might be someone in a different position with a different view on the situation. They could be wrong too, just might be something that they have seen heard which has lead them to a certain conclusion.

Jose wants a striker, we are 100% looking to get this done. King is doable, but other more preferable options are being explored.
Plenty of time left to make sure we get the biggest bang for our buck. Not all of them have to be in by the start of the season.

Thanks for the info. We have like 9 games in 20 days. If the club is really thinking a striker doesnt have to be in by like yesterday, we are in a world of trouble.

To be fair the club has generally thought bringing in another striker wasn't urgent for what?.....7-8 years now.

Agreed but Trix said "them" indicating it's more than just one player we're looking to add. This being the ITK thread I'll avoid the formation chat but suffice to say there are players we've been linked to by ITK and the media in positions where we aren't crying out for immediate reinforcement.
Can’t see either of son or Kane going to the EL away games. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Lucas leading the line in those games with the likes of lamela sess and clarke. They may rotate in the cup games early doors but they will not run either into the ground during the busy schedule
