I think you meant deals can be done!. They cant be signed!

Deals can be done but official registrations can't be done until July 1st I believe - which is a formality if a deal has been done between two Clubs.

Stekelenburg has 'signed' for Fulham, which I'm struggling to understand, due to the fact that I was of the same opinion as you in respect that deals can be agreed but not finalised until July 1st.

Tbf it is quite quiet with us this summer maybe it's just all the leaks have been plugged in previous years redknapp and staff were happy to chat!
Before that we had poyet and Ramos! With the former seeming to be happy to chat as Brighton were always leaking info out!.

Maybe just finally we are a tighter ship! Would hate to know how many times itk could have arguably cost us a deal? With early leaks that we are interested.
As it stands we seem to have more itk than any other club ever!

I can't see us doing any business until baldini is in and Avbs holidays are over where he's had time to think about targets

I think ASM was just trying to establish whether there was a precedent for contracts/agreements to be announced prior to the window actually opening, and such things as this and Nevas obviously do. It does not necessarily have to wait until the 1st July for such agreements to have been announced.

Other things though of course might well get in the way such as holidays - Bale for example in the U.S. might stop these types of things happening or being published.

Apart from trying to sign LD and bringing in Baldini I think the rest of the ITK has been about being interested in certain players. Hopefully the ITK on actual signings won't come out until they are complete. I'd hate to lose out on a player due to leaks like we did with Oscar last year!

You see, this is what I thought too BUT literally EVERY article about the transfer fails to mention 'Pre Contract'.. They normally do, don't they? Things like "and he will join his new club when the transfer window opens on July 1st" etc, but there's nothing like that, from what I can source anyway

Nope, i think it was for 4 million if i remember correctly.

I think its being said as done as once they agree it i cant see anyone backing out of it, so it is claimed to be a "done deal"

Here is my take on the situation. Leandro isn't close, Baldini has an agreement in place to come, when he does, he will take his time to draw up a list and then go and try to sign those players. Nothing will happen before he comes in.

Stekelenburg is "done" since the transfer is agreed and signed, however the player cannot play for his new club until the registration is transferred, which can only happen once the transfer window officially opens. Stekelenburgs Fulham contract probably runs from this date (1. july) too. The transfer fee can be paid now or later, depending on what the clubs agree on.

really its a pre contract agreement with the actual contract beginning on 1 July. In the meantime terms and an intention to join are signed and i would assume a legally binding contract would be in place to transfer to said club on July 1st. Really its not much different (wages apart) from an agreement when you accept a new job but have to give x amount of time in notice.
