Why does this upset you? What is the direct negative correlation between his potential involvement versus the product we put out on the field? If it is a means to an end, albeit one that is not ideal, what does it matter? What evidence do we have that this will somehow hurt us? I know the guy is a bit slimy and has too much influence over certain players and clubs, but you would’ve thought he was the babaoyega the way some harp on about him. Moreover, does Paratici strike anyone as a DOF who’d let anyone like Mendes wield undue influence that would put his plans and players at risk? Not me.
I think this forum probably went through the Mendes stuff enough during the manager hunt but I share the consistently voiced concerns that a favour here and favour there isn't a good thing with a guy like Mendes in the long run. I also think it's pretty odd to say Paratici would never be influenced by him when his three managerial choices were Fonseca, Gattuso and Nuno - Mendes' only three clients. Just because he's brought Romero in and looks like he might have a bit of money to spend doesn't mean he's perfect.
Anyway, if he's involved then I hope he's successful in getting the deadwood new clubs even if it's for cut price fees. Fingers crossed.
