Not necessarily. Isn't the deadline for bringing players in... You can sell at any time, you just cannot register anyone new outside of the window.

any update on Lamela??

No ITK, but reports in Italy first had him saying that he's still in Rome, but now he's apparently on his way over for a medical and signature. Roma have a training session soon which should clear up what the truth is.

Take away the wage issue and the such, purely judging just the talent of the individuals, do you believe that Defoe and Leandro are better than Adebayor especially in a 1 up top formation?

I do rate Adebayor, he had a great first season for us on loan and I do realise he never really had a settled run in the team last season - whether due to AFN Cup or injuries, but I'd be happy to let him go this summer. I'd imagine Damiao would need some time to adjust to the Premiership, so would be happy to play second fiddle to Soldado - even being brought on to partner the other striker, as we saw AVB do last season. The one thing that really frustrates me about Ade is he nearly always tries to place shots, when they blatantly need to be powered, it's cost us in the last couple of seasons. I also can't imagine Ade (especially at his age) being happy to play second fiddle to Soldado - and we all know what happens when the toys come out of pram. Ade needs to be starting games consistently do get the best out of him as the last two seasons proved, I don't see him starting games this season.

Damiao has lead the line for Inter and Brazil, so I think we should take the gamble. People are worried that he'll flop... I'm a big believer that world renowned younger players like Damiao still retain their market value even if they do flop after one or two seasons. If we do take the gamble on Damiao and he flops in this country, we could still sell to clubs in Italy, Spain, or Germany (not to mention Russia and Portugal). We may have to take a slight loss, but other clubs are always prepared to take gambles on players 'making it' in their respective leagues. He's a 'name', he has market value.

As for Defoe, I thought he did pretty well last season when called upon. At 31 years old, he needs to ask himself if he wants to be involved as a third choice striker - in a team pushing for CL football, and challenging for other honours - or wants to be playing week in, week out at a mid table or lower club. I think he could still job at another club of our level but judging by the way players like Caulker, Huddlestone, and even possibly Lennon (Now being linked to Cardiff WTF? These are good players!) seem to be joining lower level, newly promoted teams - I'm guessing Defoe would go to a similar bracket club.

I posted last week about being on a photoshoot with Sergio Ramos and what he said about BB being done. Today I've been on set with Joe Hart and I just started talking to his agent and asked who else he looked after and believe it or not GB is part of his agency but obviously he personally looks after players in the NW while Barnett looks after Gareth. He has said the deal IS DONE. Signed sealed and delivered. But Tottenham want to announce the deal when it suits us. By all accounts last Tuesday RM called to say the deals off and Levy shit himself as we are spending the GB money.

As before this isn't ITK just passing on what I've been told first hand from someone in a good position to comment. I'm sure it's not anything that most of us don't already know/presume.

That does not sound at all like Daniel Levy, he would never spend money on the assumption of future funds via a sale, that's just not good business sense.

Thanks for the info. But IMO I don't think we've spent any GB money YET! But this week will be squeaky bum time.

Sounds like he's toeing the company line, to be honest.

If the deal was done, I don't see what influence we would have in in Bale's grand unveiling. RM have behaved appallingly while Bale was under contract to us, blatantly and publicly tapping him up and obviously not giving a toss about upsetting Spurs while trying to get us to sell them our star player. I don't see why they'd change their tune if the deal was done. It just doesn't add up.

Thanks for passing on. My thoughts are:

1 . We haven't spent the Bale money. Neither Willian or Lamela signed. We could just stop the spending right this moment and just keep Gareth Bale. Simple.
2. If it was "DONE. Signed, sealed and delivered" Real Madrid could announce it when they wanted, we'd be powerless.
3. Why was he expected to train with Spurs today if he was a Real Madrid player.

I also don't think that sounds particularly like Levy.

My take on the 50 mil from Lewis is that that is the conservative figure that we will expect to get from the Bale transfer whenever it happens. It was basically to allow us to get our deals done early, as a loan against the value of Bale.

Just imo, but I struggle to believe that Levy would act in a way that could potentially leave us fucked.
