Apparently we gained another €10million from Bale winning the CL, so the transfer fee is now more like £90million :D

Also, Perez has seemingly finally admitted that they did pay £85million for Bale, after previously denying it to stop Ronaldo crying like a little bitch...

God, can you imagine the havoc Sherwood would have wreaked this summer?

Darren Fletcher in midfield, Steven Fletcher up front, Adam Johnson on the wings, Rio at the back.

He would have set us back years.

Wanted him for his experience and because our dressing room is 'too nice' apparently. Nothing we didn't know

Did you watch Southampton this season?

That really means jack shit.

I don't doubt your sentiments but i actually saw Porto (live twice) and several times on T.V. under the illustrious AVB. If comparing what a manager did at a previous club to what he's going to do at his new club indicates success then why did Brian Clough only last forty four days at Leeds?

I mean if we go on previous Managers success Spurs should have won three trebles by now..................:bag:

Believe me that i am one hundred percent behind the new manager, but let's be realistic in our expectations.

You've obviously never signed an important financial document/contract. Such things do NOT get processed unless there's a man present, naked, with a 14inch tallywhacker, painted all over in edible gold, wearing spikey high heeled shoes with a mohican ponytail haircut dyed shocking pink. It's a specialist role.

It is?

Not like issuing food stamps then..................

All I know is that I'm excited to hopefully have a coach that can get our club playing in a high-tempo, pressing setup. I love the idea of Poch coming in with some of the young talent we possess and being a defender himself, hopefully getting the most out of our talented-yet-underperforming defensive group.

And, I'm also excited to get back to what will hopefully be some Player ITK.

That's just the point surely a manager who finished 8th shouldn't be the best available option.

Last season Steve Clarke was getting a lot of plaudits as WBA finished 8th, to me signing Poch this summer is much the same as if we had signed Clarke to replace AVB last summer, his team scored 53 goals one short of Soton's 54 goals this season

They look bright prospects for a short while only to ultimately flatter to deceive.

I hope Poch proves me wrong and certainly there will always be the odd managers with no track record coming from a lower club and thriving as they step up, but I can't say he impressed me at Espanyol and despite so much talk about Soton playing great football I have to say a number of games I watched the supposed great football escaped me. There were a few very good games, but suggesting they played great football last season for me is a totally over the top

Oh well at least we know with Levy if the new guy doesn't deliver he won't waste too much time until he looks for another, so we'll either see early success or be doing the same thing next summer or the following January, lets hope we see the results the way the black and white smoke has flowed out of WHL under ENIC waiting on every new manager decision people might start to think we are Newcastle United

If you look at Clarke's success in taking WBA to eighth and Martinez taking Everton above us this season then there is only one answer. The guy who scored a hat-trick on Sunday.

He should be our number one target this summer.

Pretty sure Charlie Adam was on his list too

I'm assuming your tongue is on your cheek and that you realise the "windfall" is part of the agreed price, not in addition to it?

I'm assuming you realise that addons are never counted as part of the guaranteed fee, we were guaranteed £85mill from Madrid, the CL windfall was part of the addon package.
