It takes Levy weeks to pull off big signings. What makes anybody think he will pull something big on deadline day other than a loan or a player at a reduced price (VDV) comes to mind? Welbeck after Stombouli is the best we can expect today.

I really have no faith in us signing anyone decent, if the ITK is right i'm sick of us leaving the big deals till late only to report "sorry, we tried" year after year.

It's a sideshow every year, designed to give the impression we were on the verge if something big and can attract big names - the reality is that we have no intention of signing Damio/Moutinho etc. There's a reason it's always left so 'late'.

It keeps people distracted though while we fill the squad with cheap price growers for the trading exchange (Holtby, Fryers, Chadli for example - Stambouli will be one of these).

Have to be patient with these deadline day signings. Hope some exciting stuff happens, seems like at the moment it could easily go either way. Personally I think we would have had a good window if we get Stambouli and Wellbeck. With the defensive upgrades we should be in a good position for season ahead...hope we don't sell Soldado
