Small donation made.

Reading the latest thing from JJ, it sounds like a recipe for us pissing about again and wasting our time.

I know this has been mentioned many times before but I can't remember the answer. Why can't each member be charged £1 or £1.50 for an annual subscription fee? That'd cover the costs wouldn't it? I can't think of many people who use the site (lurkers aside) who would leave SC for the sake of a pound.

Is it just that you don't want to deter new people from joining?

At the time of posting this, my suggestion has received 9 agrees and 2 winners.

That's £11 guaranteed rob. ELEVEN POUNDS!

We're on our way.

Lurking donation made... one apple core en route.
Plus, a reoccurring monthly donation for those cold hard winter months......

I can see the idea in priciple but I would make it for members with say over 1000 posts, maybe more viable? We know how great this place is, but a newbie brousing and wondering which forum to join would opt for a fee free forum rather than a subscription. I will hold my hands up and red facely say I don't donate as much as I should, not because I am tight and try to avoid it but its one of those things that I say I am goign to do then it slips my mind.

£20 into the coffers. Much appreciated for all the hard work you guys do.

On a transfer note, I'm intrigued by the hints that we are going to concentrate on Townsend at LW rather than buying in. Poch has proven he can improve players/get them a move to Liverpool with his intelligent coaching, but Andros seems to be particularly resistant to the idea of changing his style. It's a bit unmoveable object vs irresistible force - but I can see that it might be worth the risk for 6 months - if Poch manages to get Townsend to think a bit more on the pitch, he's got all the physical attributes to be a great left winger. If not, we can always buy Kono or someone like that in January, leaving all our money this summer for a left back, a centre back and a striker.

First month free, then a pound a month...which is what I had going (big spender) until I switched bank accounts and have been too lazy to set it up again.

If I lost access until I did it, I'd have it done in no time.

50 quid a year is 14 pence a day. Having said that I know that finding 4 pounds a month can be tough for some.

But there are those that probably can afford it easily. There should be 50 people that can afford 50 pounds.

I prefer the open door policy here to the closed policy of say COYS and the less sterile freedom of speech.

The whoring of ITK makes this place a one stop shop.

Keep it up Rob and A&C

It's funny how the number of replies to this thread goes down when the nasty subject of donations comes up.

Cambiasso - yes if it was five years ago. But not now. While he is still serviceable, i'd fear that by the time he got up to speed with prem football week-in week-out he'd be announcing his retirement at the end of this season in any case.

Plus - i'd rather us stick with what we've got in midfield tbh, unless it's a 20m purchase who can be with us for several years, not just 12 months

I'm self employed and the missus and I have been on my salary only for some time. I'm not excusing my self, merely stating facts. Despite that, I'll do one of those pledging-things people do related to signings.
The signing of Lovren, Blind, Bony or Lukaku will generate 5 GBP this summer.

A nice forced 25 pence donation for every valid dislike/spam/D'oh rating. Not only would people stop spouting so much shit, there is that much rubbish posted here that you'd be rich in no time! ;)

Edit- Oh yes-the neg reps are hilarious...although should have seen it coming....

perhaps we should all be means tested by A&C, who can then assess how much we should each pay :)
