Pretty much every time I finish watching an England game I ask myself why did I just waste time watching an England game.
Every time, i promise myself, "I'm not watching that shit again" but I get football withdrawals during the international break and get sucked in

Sack Southgate already. The guy is an utter clown.

Say he was to go today, which he obviously won’t because the FA have their yes-man, I can’t think of a single premier league club who would jump at the chance to appoint him.

Even when his popularity peaked, I can’t remember a single club even sniffing around him.

As has been said before, he's a good diplomat and good at creating a bond in a group of players, but he's just not a good tactician or coach.

He will go to Saudi but only after a disappointing quarter or semi final exit in the summer. No chance any PL club touches him.

I'd rather watch conte ball or a jose game than this! I think it's the worst performance I've seen under Southgate?
For the sick and twisted among us who ever asked themselves “what if Fat Sam wasn’t sacked?” You’re now seeing exactly what would’ve happened. Southgate is nothing but a Waitrose Allardyce in style and substance, the hook-nosed, lanky knobhead.

God we're so laborious. Plenty of possession and no clue what to do. So much talent. Southgate is a good FA man but he's not getting the best out of this squad IMO.

I saw someone on FB calling him Safegate earlier today

I’d say in his earlier tenure, sure. But recently, certainly not. He’s quite evidently established a Club England™ culture where there’s blatantly some heavy favouritism in squad selections. He's also gone on record defending his decision to call up and play Maguire when he doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the squad. He also questioned England fans for being (rightly) unhappy with Henderson being called up…

I know these days you mustn't play left footed wingers on the left or right footed wingers on the right but neither Saka or Grealish once took their defender on to get to the line, they both cut inside and ran into a wall of defenders so my question is this. Why not try Swapping them over for periods during the game, they might find it easier to beat their defender on their best foot, it'd certainly ask questions of the defence who otherwise had none to answer.
Thought Rico Davies didn't embarrass himself but never offered us anything either, never once offered Grealish an overlap when there was always acres ahead of him.
I just find England so boring.

I only watch proper tournament football with England now, never friendlies or group games, same old shit. Genuinely haven't watched a minute of us since we lost to France December last year.

Sadly I just can't be bothered to watch England anymore. I will reluctantly in a tournament but not the group stages or friendlies under Southgate as we are just so dire.

I do from time to time pop in here to see if things have changed, but looks like once again I did well to avoid watching the game.

Shame, as England do have some decent talent and had we had a more forward thinking and dynamic manager we could be exciting to watch.

Waste of a generation and a world class forward.

That's why there's so much discontent in the camp, and players don't want to play for him.

Oh.

I find it mad how angry people get about dead rubbers, but particularly by the bile this bloke who's almost the definition of inoffensive gets. By any serious metric, Southgate's the best England manager in sixty years. Do people remember what the last tournament game England had before him? Iceland. Fucking hell, I'm pretty confident he's won as many knockout games with this nation as every manager post-Alf Ramsey combined. Those are the glory days people are harkening for?

Qualifiers and friendlies are boring? Yeah, they've always been boring. They were boring when we won every one under Capello too. Just this want England fans have to watch something you know probably isn't going to be good and then complaining that it wasn't good is bewildering to me. Do something else!

EDIT: This may've been more hept up than necessary and it's not even really @ you, I'm just proper exhausted by the indignation. It's the same as it ever was.
