whether or not you rate Welbeck as a striker you have to admire his work rate

Off the ball he closes down so well for a striker

I think he'd have been a good partner for Kane for us long term had Arsenal not came in for him and we'd been able to wrap up a deal. He doesn't score as much as he should but his work rate and movement is top notch and I think he'd have made our other forward players better

Hate to say it but I envy Arsenal tonight seeing a core of their players being so key to England

Hopefully our crop of youngsters will go on to do the same

But where was this in the first half, its alright doing this when you are running the match but against the big boys you have to perform over 90mins

I am being serious the passing is not inventive enough this is not a footballing lesson, most of their players are from lower pl teams or championship sides and their lack of quality is showing

Good performance by England but if Roy's not going to use Berahino and Barkley then they should have been in the U21s squad. Surely game time is more important than sitting on a bench and watching a footie match?

2-0 up and 71 minutes played, really, Berahino and Barkley should be on. Aren't England comfortable enough now? Why does Hodgson HAVE to keep Rooney on? If he wants him on, he can just take Welbeck off. What is the bloody point of these friendlies if nothing new is tried?

Normally-but it was an exciting start to this game-correctly called as not being able to be maintained 90 mins.
Getting a bit boring now-Scotland tiring so would not be surprised by a tired 3rd goal.

Possession based football doesnt mean its boring

When on the ball the quality of passes have to be better or more incisive rather than side to side. I actually like the way Scotland play but they are shit, they have the right ideas like that one/two touch passes and moving with purpose around the box but because they are shit they don't come off

England have the quality to make that work like that chance just now

Sitting back and trying the counter and then trying the possession stuff which is mainly side to side will result in a repeat of the world cup

I can forgive the team being shit but I cant forgive them for playing easy old dinosaur shit
