The benchmark should be Arsenal in my view. Spending around £100m a year on average over the last 5 yrsWe absolutely are flush with cash mate. The stadium more than pays for itself -- we may have debt to pay down, but it was financed at historically low interest rates and the increased matchday revenues are substantially in excess of the debt payments. That will become more and more true as time goes on.
We rank in the top ten clubs in the Deloitte Money League and two of the clubs above us (Barca and Juve) are in outright financial crisis. The current ranking comes from a season with no CL football and doesn't account for the £150m capital injection over the summer. Make no mistake, there are only a handful of clubs in world football with greater spending power than us.
We may not be able to splash £150m per summer like you're suggesting. Only financially doped clubs such as City, PSG, or Newcastle can do. But we are absolutely capable of backing Conte with a handful of signings over the next two windows. It's purely a question of whether Levy is willing to do so.
