CAA helps consult with companies that are looking for naming rights deals. I've heard that there is a company they are working with that "is close to a deal with a team in the Premier League". I don't know 100% if it's Spurs, but it can really only be a few teams.

They don’t only do naming rights deals though. They do all kinds of sponsorships.
So was the rumour definitely linked to stadium naming rights?

Should have taken a picture of it at the time. But I was reading the San Francisco Herald and they had a feature in Beyoncé and the pic they used was “Beyoncé performing to a sell out crowd at Tottenham Hotspur stadium”

Yes, it's directly linked to naming rights, and the company that is interested in that partnership has no qualms about price for a sponsorship of this caliber.

It’ll have to go a long way to beat The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
I hope they do something like “the [sponsor’s name] ground at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium”.

I’m sure there are UK examples but I’ve always liked the Denver Bronco’s solution to keep one of the coolest names in sports: “[sponsor’s name] Field at Mile High Stadium”.

What’s the annual revenue for a naming rights deal of this calibre?

It's not a company that most people would know, to be honest. Not an Asia based company either.

I still believe that unless it’s an absolute game-changing fortune, and the name enhances our reputation, the full value of the name of the stadium is worth more to THFC than it is to anyone else. If it’s worth £200m to someone not associated with Tottenham, the consistent world-wise high-profile coverage is surely worth more to the club.

Hence the long delay in doing a deal. Why should it be sold for anything less than an absolutely absurd amount?

For once I hope DL spends as long as he likes about it and screws the very best possible deal out of them. .

Well - it depends on how you are defining "absurd" amount. But, the lost revenue over the last 4 years has not been insignificant - and will never be recouped.

But the value gained by THFC from the enhanced global recognition will also be very significant.

If that extra exposure is worth millions a year to someone else, it’s probably worth it to Spurs.

The question is how wisely that value is realised. As has been said already, the key is whether the word Tottenham is incorporated in the name.

To be fair, and while I've enjoyed having it called the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it's done us the world of good in terms of spreading our name far and wide.

The concerts, the boxing, NFL and rugby have brought our name and our incredible facilities to a whole new audience.
While that might not amount to an annual amount of money in the bank, the publicity and spreading our name must be worth a fair old bit, if only for "growing our brand to a global audience".

I don't think that not having a stadium sponsor has been as detrimental as some on here.
Plus, even when it does become the Bezos Arena or whatever, it'll now take a while for people to stop referring to it as the Spurs Stadium (I couldn't be bothered to type the whole thing again!).
