Interesting watch. The 40 second mark really brings it home...5th to 3rd to 2nd in his first three seasons with a phenomenal and young starting 11....you forget just how good it was. We had an incredible team.

We really should've pushed on but the stadium was a distraction and we made an absolutel horrorshow of the recruitment side of things.

all that 'investment to stadium for transfer' all those lies. its just for profit. for nfl. for Beyonce concert. we killed our own future. we have no pride. and we will stay that way till levy goes. I'm just so sad with the poch situation

Add to that how Levy hovers around the training ground restaurant in the mornings - open invitation for players to come to him and moan about the manager.

I've no idea who is best placed to do it, but someone needs to stage on "intervention" on Levy.
Yeah on the Amazon documentary, it really open my eyes, he has his paws everywhere and it will always be the same he can’t help himself.

*not actually anything to do with profit lol we just wanted to make a graphic

Edit: Would serve any WTFing this to learn what profit actually is, look at our accounts for the past couple of years, and not get drawn in by media headline bollocks.

That is absolutely insane, can’t quite get my head around that especially with RM and PSG not in there.
Barca are obviously knackered but citeh are only in that top ten from false accounting.
You’ve left a legacy Daniel, now can you please exit stage left so we can actually do what we’re meant to do as a football club

I’m no finance/accounting expert but I can say with confidence that EBITDA is a standard metric for profitability.

I may be mistaken but I believe EBITDA differs from net income in that it doesn’t take debt payments for fixed assets into account (among other nuances, I’m sure), so one could argue it’s a bit misleading given our massive capital expenditures in the stadium, but if it’s true that we rank third in all of world sport for EBITDA then it’s a strong indication that we have a very healthy financial position.

No club on that list should have its chairman meddling in recruitment and insisting on the likes of Rodon over Skriniar, Nkoudou over Zaha, fuck all over Grealish, etc.

Levy’s abject miserliness is dragging the club down, there’s no getting around it.

EBITDA is the standard in the business world to gauge the profitability of a business. Our EBITDA was 112m on the last accounts alone, second highest in the league behind Man City. Our cash and cash equivalents increased from £147m to £226m. Some people seem to think an accounting loss due to booking depreciation for the stadium on the accounts equals an actual cash loss. It doesn’t. We aren’t losing money.

The graphic clearly states that the figures are based on EBITDA which is a common profitability measurement that is used when comparing companies. EBITDA is a better measure than profit when comparing businesses (or in this case sports teams specifically) because it strips out items that can vary widely from one company to the next.

For example, we have a 72m depreciation charge in the last two years as a result of building a new stadium. We also have a 79m amortization expense. That's not cash, we didn't pay anyone 151m, it's two accounting figures.

It doesn't make any sense to use profit when comparing teams as it doesn't reflect a true picture and as I mentioned, EBITDA is one of the most common ways of comparing businesses.

Not quite true. There are various metrics relating to profitability. You dont even have to be profitable to have positive ebitda

however it is definitely a standard metric for financial health. If we are third in EBITDA it's incredibly positive.

For those that care…

EBITDA (pronounced "ee-bit-dah") is a standard of measurement banks use to judge a business' performance. It stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation.

Well if we are in such a healthy position through Levy's amazing work we won't be relying on cheap signings or selling before we buy this summer. Right guys?!

To be fair that sounds more like Baldini than Levy right? Just Levy speaking up for him.

Not really. Levy is still concerned that his 'investment' isn't starting.

A manager should be left to pick his team without any pressure/questioning from board room members.

It's pathetic really and encapsulates perfectly our problems as a Club behind the scenes.

He wants involvement, there should.be fucking zero.

Cowboys won Super bowls (1992/93/95) when Jerry Jones first bought the team (1989), increased the value into the billions, helped the league secure huge tv rights, but no other NFL team has an owner that is General Manager, is involved with the draft and day to day running, his son is involved with squad building.... they've won jack shit for 28 years...
Levy is the Jerry Jones of the Premier League.
Spurs.. Cowboys, there's something in the water.

He's in the cafe eating breakfast with the squad. Rose knew he could go straight to Daniel with his problems. It's all wrong.
