It is just incomprehensible to me that the people running our club watched us ship a relegation amount of goals last season and, less than two weeks before the season starts, we've got the same fucking central defence.
Does Levy not fucking understand that every game counts, including the games before the window closes? That it takes time for a new player to settle in? To learn the new tactics of a new manager? Does he not understand this is an emergency now?
For the last few years, every bloody season we go into it with a massive, obvious gap in our squad that compromises our ability to have a successful season.
The league this season will be super competitive and Postecoglou needs to hit the ground running. We can't just wait until next summer to fix the defence, because there will be other things that need fixing then, including things we can't foresee now.
We're one of the most profitable sports teams in the world, and one of the richest football teams, and we have one, ONE centre back who's good enough. And it's been that way for three years now.
How have Dier, Tanganga, Davies and Sanchez not been moved on over the years? What value do they even have now in the market? Why does Levy think these players will somehow come good after years of evidence to the contrary?
If we play a high line in defence like at Celtic with Dier/Davies in it - and I would bet a significant amount of money one of them will be starting our first league game - we're in serious trouble.
Completely agree and the even scarier part is that we don't have the same central defence as last season. As average as Lenglet is he still improves us.
Once again Levy is setting up yet another manager to fail.
