I do practically agree with all of that but I do think he's easy to assess now. As harsh as it sounds I just simply don't think he's a good enough player to be a regular starter. Sometimes you have to factor in consistency with ability and consistency is something that he doesn't have near enough of. Plus for someone who is pretty quick he doesn't use his pace near enough. From a wide position I can remember Tanganga showing more endeavour in trying to beat a man down the flank than I can remember Lucas doing so.

Agree - the key term you used is 'regular starter' - he's not shown enough for that role. Hoping he can bring more consistency to his game and maybe push on to be more than a squad/impact player but in the interim, perhaps an addition (even short term like Willian) may balance things out a bit.

lucas is a good rotational option to have, and we need a starter
I see most squad players as usually being relatively short term. If Moura isn't at the level to become a first team player, I don't believe he is, then at some point he will likely want to join a team where he can play. He's 27 now and after his CL exploits has a reasonable reputation. Might not be the worst time to sell depending on how much teams are spending.

Gotta move Lamela before we think about moving Lucas on.

Lucas still chipping in with goals and assists every now and then. Lamela does too but we need an injury free winger/inside forward to rely on.

On a separate note, I'd be interested in this idea of securing Ryan Fraser and trying him at RWB.

Would have to be on the right though, he's only playing on the left to cut in and finish with his right foot. His great season a couple of years ago was on the right as well, when he got the Arsenal link all the time. Wouldn't be shocked if it's full back Mourinho would have him at, considering the way he use Aurier.

If we can't get Grealish we should get Ebere Eze. In fact regardless we should not mess up like we did with Grealish waste not time and secure the services of Eze.

Ryan Fraser as a left back? not totally sure about that however Trent Alexander Arnold at Liverpool I suppose converted from a midfielder to right back

Ryan Fraser to be signed for LB would be stupid, it's not like we have an already solid defence where we can just try an experiment like that. Get someone who we know can defend and contribute to securing a solid back line first and foremost.

For starters, now I know he's right-footed it would make sense to try him on the right. I think he's a competent player and has a bit of pace.

Milner at Pool has filled in for Robertson at times. Moses was successfully converted to a RWB at Chelsea. Ashley young another, Valencia another. It's possible. BUt not for a moment suggesting he should be our primary RB - Just that on a free transfer he could plug a hole that needs filling if Aurier departs. We should still be after Aarons as a primary target.

If we're going to convert an attacking player into a rounded full back, put all the eggs in the Sessegnon basket please.

That would cover LB, but what about RB? He is right footed so would give us options on both sides. But I'm not sure if it's the best option.

Isn’t Fraser 5’4” or something? Doesn’t exactly scream ‘good RB for a top 6 side’.

With the way Jose plays (one FB up, one back) I was suggesting that, rather than invest in another 'cant defend' forward thinking right back, we trust Sessegnon with that role on the left and buy a proper defensive right back.
