I thought exactly the same when it went in as did other who text me straight away. People forget how good Gomes has been for us at times!!

Right. So every time Friedel picks up or catches a simple ball do you think 'fuck me Gomes would have thrown that in his own net'?

Same principal, Ba's goal yesterday was quality and there isn't a keeper in the world that would have saved it. Least of all Gomes with his hands like feet.

Gomes may have saved Ba's goal, highly unlikely but he was capable on occasion of turning some blinding shots like that over the bar...... most likely though he would have spilled a cross or two and also made our entire defence less comfortable and confident in general and we would have lost by a wider margin (to put it simply we are better off with big Brad in goal)

In regards to earlier comment(too lazy to go back), yesterday Friedel was very close to saving Ba's shot, I think a younger Friedel of yesteryear would of got that imo, Gomes instinctive reaction are lightening quick, just a shame he sometimes doesnt properly think through the easy shit

I think Lloris would be brilliant for us imo and I am hoping that is who dark blue is

forgot about balotelli but i do think mancini would want 4 top forwards for all of their competitions.
City need to reduce their wage bill by a very large margin, to have any chance of getting remotely closer to comply with FFP regulations. Why do you think they did not get Van Pervert, could not afford another million a month on an already bloated wage bill.

aguero stretchered off for city with a knee injury - if this is long term - would they want to keep ade, or look at llorente (if we are still in for him)?

You have four forwards because injuries happen, so I doubt they need Ade. They played most of last season without Tevez and won the league.

Probably left out for his own safety in part considering the Bilbao shop was daubed with "Llorente you Spaniard" and "Llorente you bastard" you get the impression of how the natives feel about it.

If this has affected Llorente the best thing we could do is put in a sensible bid as he might want a swift resolution to all of the this.

and Damiao is derived from 'damao' which means 'to tame' in Greek or something. I recall 1 ITK tweeting something along the lines of 'Has DL tamed the lion?' So it could easily refer to Leandro.

Sorry about the disagree rating, was on the phone, corrected and would add 100% agree, which is why Ade has them over a barrel.

If Ade has signed as JJ suggests, by far and away the top priority now has to be someone to pull the strings in the midfield. I can cope with not signing Leandro or Llorente (or anyone else up front for that matter), if we can sign a good Modric replacement.

I think you might be falling into the trap of thinking that ITKs delve that deeply into their own constructions. Do you really think that someone would link a name to an ancient Greek verb in order to create a hint?

I don't overly think that, but it adds another perspective as people have connected the lion reference straight to Llorente (Which I hope it is) and haven't considered that Leandro has just as much chance as being linked to the reference.

Word from COYS is that Adebayor is currently at the Plough in cuffley, says he's renting a place there and will be playing against WBA. Anyone local who can get us pictures and further details?

As far as I know the Plough's never done rooms, so I assume he was perhaps eating there (the food's supposed to be pretty decent) and renting a house somewhere in Cuffley. It's only a 10-minute drive from Bull's Cross.

I read it as meaning he was renting a house in Cuffley and not a room at the Plough

Agreed. And it's also time to start trimming the fat.

I'd take a jockstrap for Bentley/Jenas just to get them off the books. I think Huddlestone should be made available if he's truly not even going to get a shot to crack the first-team. And Bassong just appears to be the odd-man-out in the centerback group. That could free up some quality money. I just feel as though we need to make these deals sooner rather than later if the plan is to take those funds and put them into incoming players and not just the good ole piggy bank.
