It makes me sad to say that as far as I'm aware this is the first time I've watched a team I support win a penalty shootout.

I was just thinking . Has anyone ever seen a penalty where the shot goes down the middle and the keeper has anticipated that it will do that and has stood still and caught it ?
Seems to me that stright down the middle is the safest place to shoot as keepers always dive to one side .

You absolute star OP, that just brought back one of the best nights of my life, I was buzzing for days after that game.
The support that night was World Class, I had forgotten how we sang Danny Thomas' name after the save. Even through the despair we all felt, the entire ground sang to lift him. Far and away the best atmosphere I have EVER experienced at The Lane.
That has so put me in a top mood.
