Balotelli's attitude is a risk and he's also clearly not that clever which might be a problem, because apparently Poch requires intelligent players to play in his system.

However, apart from last season his record is very good and he's only 24. He's 6ft2 and can play from the left, up top on his own or in a front 2. I genuinely don't think we could a better player.

Moreover I have just discovered we share the same birthday and he is exactly 10 years my junior. Go get him Levy.

In terms of the needs of our squad to have a successful 2015/16 season, the question of who to sign in this position is the biggest and most important decision that we need to make this summer.

So people think balotelli would be a good fit.

Lesson one; poch requires forwards to press. Ie. Run non stop.
Lesson two; balotelli running?!

People will disagree, but I personally would want someone who will run through brick walls for the team. He would work hard, lead the line, be an absolute pest and give 110% and lead the press from the front.

I still firmly believe that Lamela/Eriksen/Chadli is a hot prospect to have support an on form striker, but for the fact that Lamela has looked bereft of confidence, which has lead to his decision making become somewhat shabby, and Chadli apparently not having any fucks mailed from home for him to give.

Sort out Lamela's confidence with plenty of encouragement, give Chadli a back-hand-cock-slap every time he sulks or doesn't put in the effort. Job done.

I'll regret this tomorrow when my red rating bar will have morning glory, but i think we need a striker not to back-up Kane, but to supercede him - we need a superstriker.

Or if not to take over as no.1, at least to rival him for first pick.
Tricky second season coming up; I reckon he was the right man at the right time last year - not convinced he'll replicate that form for us again next year, though I'm sure he will in the long term be a Tottenham legend.

I'm still not convinced that Harry can lead the line upfront this season, let alone who is going to help him upfront?

It's why I think we need a player of the caliber of Llorente!

3 years ago I think we would have been selling mothers, grandmothers and anything else to get Llorente.

The reason he's available is that he's not that player. Not as extreme a case as Soldado but you know what I mean

I would have loved Ings, an intelligent striker who puts in a shift, but well what can we do now.

The good thing is Kane can play any role, lone striker/Sheringham role, I personally would like to see Soldado given another chance, I know it's a case of square pegs round holes but if you keep smashing away it has to fit eventually.... surely. Although presuming (hoping, praying) that we get rid of Ade then we can maybe get someone in, Austin would be my preference as he 'puts it abut a bit'.

People are wanting that wing forward/striker player with a bit of pace, but most teams will be 10 men behind the ball against us and I dont see explosive pace as the answer, but as an option. However how many premiership expierenced options do we have, not many, Remy (chelsea wont sell to us) Berahino (questionable character) Sissoko (pants).

Ok, we don't have an option - 15m Austin, lets just get him in. I'm sold.

Said it before, but I really liked Chelsea's set up last year. One star striker (Costa), an experienced back up willing to ride the bench (Drogba), and finally a third option who is versatile enough to play both up front or out wide (Remy).
Someone like Austin I think will go sour fast after watching Kane for a couple of months, one we'll likely have to get rid of next summer. Perhaps Oduwa could be the wide man, never know what will happen when a kid get his opportunity.
Perfect line up for me though would be something like Harry Kane, Miroslav Klose (out of contract I believe), Son Heung-min.
Son would probably play regulary out wide, and I think Klose would raise Kane's game and provide a lot of experience to the team.

I think Ings made sense because he could potentially play as a wide forward so he could partner Kane and play alongside the 3 AMs when needed.

The problem with playing one up front is it is hard to get backup.

Kane leads the line well so should play most games. If we buy a backup who can also only play one position, like Austin, then we'll have a quality player barely getting game time. This leads to him either wanting to leave or the manager trying to fit him into a system he isn't suited for.

So for me we needed a striker who can also play as a wing forward. Some posters have touted Chadli as a player who could play up front. Remy fits the bill perfectly but I doubt we'll get him. Ings we've already missed out on.

Not convinced by Berahino. He's probably better off staying another season at West Brom.

I also think there maybe games where we want to play two strikers, if we need to change formation. I don't think it should be assumed its one striker every game.

Don't know what his situation is or even if he's still available but I'd like Islam Slimani.

Reminds me of Defoe, not sure he's the right fit for us but clearly has ability!
For all his short comings Defoe was a proven goal scorer and is high on our list of all time scorers.
If we could get another younger version of him with his pace when he first joined us I wouldn't mind.

If Bojan recovers well from his injury then I would like us to go for him, but unlikely to happen this window, same as Jay Rodriguez although I haven't seen enough of him before the injury to judge whether he is good enough and who knows how he'll be after the injury. But he fits the profile purely because he can play out wide and through the middle which is what we need.
