Feel for him, set us up well and made some good calls to drop Dier and PEH. Couldn’t have known Davies would be the next Spurs defender to have a mare and Forster had on concrete boots. Brentford second best in the first half but Frank changed it up at half time and we didn’t respond unless you call collapsing a response. Oh for some of the passionate defending Mee and Raya put in, the contrast to Davies and Forster was night and day.

Very much had his hands tied due to the situation. Made some good calls, and also some bad.
Won't get the job permanently, and need to go somewhere he can be the main man.
If he stays at Spurs then I'd prefer it to be the women's team.

He tried an all out attack approach in the first half but we needed to be 3 up at least to make it work. Henry had a blinder to stop that happening. Its a high risk strategy but fair play for going for it in our last home game.

Good Luck Ryan 👍

He might become the next Pep, I really hope he does, but he can't be our manager next season. No hard feelings, and unlike some, I don't mind if he stay's as a coach. The man's still so young.

Thought he could have cut it next season but, no, he can't. Shame as he's hugely likeable but needs to go and ply his trade where the expectations are less and the restrictions from above don't have huge effects on the pitch like it does here.

I'll appreciate him always for stepping up for us when we needed someone to provide a semblance of leadership, but this job is just too big for him.

Theres no point laying into Mason none of this is his fault. He's out of his depth and that's all on the Chairman.
He was a boy when he led us out at Wembley for the league cup final and he’s still a boy

Disgrace from our board. Shame on them

He's got potential to be a good manager but at the end of the season he needs to leave the security blanket that is spurs and find another club to learn at.

As long as he stays at the club he will never reach his full potential. Find a league 2 or league 1 club to cut his teeth on.

Championship team with decent expectations would suit him well.

I was very chuffed to see Bissy start over PEH, Dier being dropped and Royal keeping his place in the squad.

I've been critical of the over the top praise he received after that 1-0 victory, but today it would be completely warranted.

The usual suspects let him down, just like they have the 4 managers before him. Can't hold that against him.

He will be a great manager one day.

Impossible to make any meaningful judgement about Mason as a coach after a handful of games at the end of a fucked up season.

But this thread demonstrates why he shouldn’t be made permanent. The fans would cut him zero slack. Whoever comes into the job is going to need plenty of banked credit to see him through the tough times to come.

Davies is never suited to an open style of play he is exposed badly for pace in that kind of team Mason should k ow it, its not that hard to see it Davies has been here a long time.

I’m warming to Mason permanently getting it. We’ve been shit 1st half both games but he’s gotten a reaction in the 2nd halves and whilst some might not like him giving 4th official grief - I think it sets the tone. It probably is a bit too soon but it’s not exactly worked with previous managers who were super experienced.

Lots of learning experiences for Mason. Sad that he's in this position, pretty unfair on him.

Frank killed him tactically in the second half and we had no answers. We were crying out for width and we waited till 80 odd minutes to bring it on.

I think Mason did a great service to fans seeking tactical and personnel alternatives to what's routine.
Most of it didn't work and if it did then it wasn't for the entire game.
It could be down to insufficient/ineffective coaching but I doubt it. I think he has just shown us what's in plain sight; our Plan A isn't at CL level and any other plan is worse than mid-table.

David Rayas distribution was very impressive
