I mean, it's hugely unlikely that he's getting the job long term. But he deserves credit for not trying to be the anti-Mourinho. It would have been easy to come in and try to massively change the system, or try to implement some kind of outrageous tactical nonsense. He just seems to have reminded the players that they are best when on the front foot, got us pressing higher and allowing the players to express themselves. Sure, he got the subs wrong against City, but I think he will make a good manager. I hope he gets an opportunity in League 1/2, maybe even a Championship club. Great window for him and I imagine a few clubs will have taken note.

To be honest, with some of the underwhelming targets that have been mooted, if Ryan does well until the end of the season, I’d have a hard time to not consider him.

I think he has though. Picking Bale, Kane, Son, and Dele is about as anti-Mourinho as you can get.

Ahh here we go. I love some good well thought reactions right after a win. Ffs

Ryan Mason, Tottenham Hotspur Manager, continues his 100% Premier League win record.

Words I never thought I’d write.

I truly don't get his use of Winks, and he fucked up the subs in the final, but in the second half v Saints and in both halves today the team has been proper good to watch and all credit to Mason for that.

Having zero experience it's inevitable that he caved into pressure last week and second-guessed his way to a poor performance and result. He'll be a decent manager one day, I'm confident of that.

I didn't really mean the players selected (Bale was underused but not exiled, and Kane and Son were ever present under Mourinho). I meant that it would have been understandable for him to try to set himself up as an all out, caution-to-the-wind, 5 up front, do-or-die manager. He'd have got support if he had. But he's still using basically the same system and the majority of the same players. He's not wasting his 8 matches trying to catch the eye, but just setting us up the way we should be. Higher up the pitch, better movement off the ball, playing through the lines, and quicker passing.

I don't really think after games against Southampton, City, and Sheffield Utd there is too much to read into his managerial style yet.

What I can say that I really like is how level-headed and pragmatic he is in post-match interviews. Calling out the GLC stamp today is totally fair. When asked about the Laporte incident in the City cup final he rightly didn't use it as a chance to make excuses, he correctly said that Laporte likely doesn't make the second tackle if he had been booked the first time.

Just seems like an intelligent and reasonable human being.

I thought Ryan's post game interview was very good, professional and he spoke very well, impressive.
