Mason clearly loves the club so Levy knew he would never say no but for his own good I really wish Ryan had told him that it wasn't the right time for him to take over.

Poisoned chalice really. Without Royal and Davies we simply cannot defend with any confidence. And it all starts from there.

best of luck Ryan

Levy is a class A **** and this is all his fault. Mason is in an impossible situation already. However, the blame for Sunday is the players'. At any level, regardless of the managerial and/or owners' situation, folding like that is disgusting. These players have managed to get Conte sacked and now Stellini. Regardless of how turgid the tactics were, the players are showing not only that they are not professional, but that they are not respecting the shirt and the thousands of fans who pay thousands of hard earned pounds to follow them.

What the Club and the players deserve are those mental countries where the fans hold the players hostage in the dressing room in an all out riot. If they don't care about the club, then at least fear getting battered.

Conte's parting words were bang on the money. If I was Mason, I'd play academy kids on Wednesday.

I know nothing of his coaching ability. Does he have any? Is he highly thought of for his coaching? Genuinely I don’t have a clue

He has got potential, only need to listen to the interview posted pages back in this thread.

But the role, if he was to get it permanently, is likely too soon for him. He needs to go and do it elsewhere.

Having said that, if he was to get it I'd be fully behind him. He's been here under Jose, Conte and played under Poch. A hard reset under Mason may not actually be the worst thing in the world, but it could take 2 or 3 seasons before we see it bare any fruit.

Interested to see the team supporting Mase will be. Hopefully Defoe is on board and would like to see Toure in there. I bet lots of those players would be a bit star struck with him.

I know there are issues but I want to be positive. Hopefully Ryan can get some good results and I'm praying we get Naglesmann in. If we do I'll be excited again.

He has done his badges and he has learnt what NOT to do for the past 3 years. I'd say he'll be alright.

Do hope he just let's the players go on the front foot from the off. If we get battered then at least we had a go. Unlike yesterday's embarrassing display.

Dear oh dear - so they sack Stellini on the back of a pathetic decision by Levy to put him in charge

They then say he’ll be leaving along with his coaching staff and appoint Ryan Mason - isn’t Ryan part of the current coaching staff??

Absolute circus and the ringmaster needs to step down

I think the players like Mason though - so that may work in our favor too and that makes up for a lot of the lack of experience and perhaps tactical nous that Mason may lack in comparison to say Ten Hag and Klopp in the next couple of games.

We may not get top four but helps end the season on a high.
