Like I said in the previous Siggy thread, I think he needs to be played in central midfield rather than the advanced position, and with Dembele being quite good defensively, a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 with Dembele and Siggy as the central midfielders, against weak opposition who have stuck 10 men behind the ball, could really suit the Icelander.
He likes to come on to the play, have things in front of him, so he can anticipate where the ball and space will open on, then attack it. He's not the type of player who excels being the centre of the play, like a VDV or Holtby, for example. He's not nimble or agile enough, or have the vision and know how or a number 10.
But he is a very good player, and with the Europa League kicking back in, I'll be interested to see if AVB starts to rotate his central midfield like he has the centre backs. If so, I think Siggy could get chances in his more natural position.
