I haven't read anything about this on the site so apologies if I missed it. The club are introducing a ticketless system this season.

Will this finally be the end of transferring tickets to a mate when you can't go? Was it used at the other days friendly?

Members will have to scan their membership cards once the season starts...

I think if you're a non member you'll get a paper ticket that has a barcode on it, someone on the turnstile will scan the barcode. If you are a member or season ticket holder you get a swipe card that they scan to let you in.

It is for memberships as well I believe

Yeah, season tickets and memberships.

Tickets for friendlies and general sale tickets for league/cup games I assume will remain on paper/card?

In reference to using a mate's season ticket - I think the card will only have a name on it (no photo ID?) so you'll just have to pretend to be the said name on ticket? Only works if season ticket holder is the same sex as you though, I suppose!

The credit card type ticket is for season tickets only isn't it?

I assume it wouldn't be in use for friendlies?

Definitely for members aswell, I was wondering what info it holds as I know people in the past whose missus haven't been able to go to a match has taken their son instead. Will it flash up 43 year old lady when a 20 year old lad is trying to get in?

I know we shouldn't abuse the membership system but last year I was having to get tickets 8 weeks before the matches took place. Committing to matches that early meant that if a party or wedding came up I could pass the tickets at cost price to a friend... not any more.

The Man City game is going to be hell.

New system teething problems are Tottenham's speciality. Is it just going to be the bloke in a turnstile with a scanner?

I'm a member (not got my card either)

I was told when we bought a ticket it's automatically added to the card instantly and that's scanned at the turnstile. When I bought a ticket v Wigan it gave me the option to pick up at box office or to post it? And posting is more expensive. Have they done away with adding tickets to the cards or have they just not updated the booking system?

Early kick off, everybody leaving the pub at 12-30, moaning about no new signings etc?

Good point I'm sure I paid for postage for the City game?

Can anyone else see this being a massive balls up? I can see this working fine for season ticket holders, but for members who don't have the same seat every game I think it'll be a mess. Without a paper ticket with confirmation of their seat some people will be swapping seats and not sitting where they should be so they can be with their mates.

Don't worry the clown at the Park Lane End who tries to get fans to sit down will be given a scanner so that he can not only get us to sit down but also in the right seats!!

Yay! Monkey Bastard Hands posted in the Main Forum.

Best username. Sorry Jon, but it's better than yours.

Back to your post, yes, it will be a massive balls up generally and as usual Jenas will (rightly) get the blame for it.

I can only imagine the chaos that would ensue if that was the case...he gets enough abuse as it is! I get the impression he'd have trouble organising a piss up at a brewery.

From the membership pack I got:
ST holders will just have a card which will have a barcode that'll get swiped at the turnstyle, apparently by a handheld scanner (which seems stupid)
Members will have tickets they buy added onto their accounts and will use that to enter, but must bring a print out of the email confirmation with them.

Non members will get tickets with a printed barcode that'll be scanned.
