Agreeing more players without manager or DoF in place. Stupid.Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk wide man Manor Solomon on a four-year contract. Fulham loanee Manor Solomon could be staying in London with Tottenham Hotspur now hoping to secure his signature.

There was mention of this possible signing being a no brainer. More like no brain. Hiring more players without a manager in place would be the dumbest of all scenarios and shows (a) we learn nothing from recent history of atrocius recruitment by ourselves and other teams and (b) we're accepting Levy's model of the club buying the staff and the 'coach' puts them through their paces. As though that's a coherent plan for better performance and competitiveness. How many more players need to go on loan or waste away on the sidelines before we wise upAgreeing more players without manager or DoF in place. Stupid.
Levy doesn't like defendersTrue but he’s young and personally I’ve liked what I’ve seen of him
we are pretty strong up front and imo our available funds should go on a high quality cb, creative midfielder and goalkeeper first

And what if the next manager doesn't want him after he's signed a 5 year deal?I'd happily bring Manor Soloman in, if it wasn't for the court ruling he wouldn't be leaving Shakhtar for less than 30M in my opinion. He would become a key player when it comes to playing against teams sat in a low block.
I had this debate with a few when it broke, as a result I took a self enforced 2 day sabbatical from here! Don’t get why people are ok with this going on with no DOF or managerAnd what if the next manager doesn't want him after he's signed a 5 year deal?

I fully understand that this is could be a plausible outcome. However, I would firstly like to think that with Moura & Danjuma likely both gone now we will have space for a player like Manor Soloman. We can also take in to consideration that if we don't sign him & replace Lucas with a signing that costs it'll likely affect the squad as a whole more negatively for the next Head Coach (In regards to not having funds to spend else where). So, this is something they will have to consider because we already know that Daniel Levy isn't necessarily going to give the players that are actually wanted. In this instance I imagine Gil & Soloman will be the Moura & Danjuma replacements. (This is just my own opinion, I'm not entirely sure where the club stand on Gil as I know he would likely prefer to go back to Spain so that could change. As of today though I feel this could be the outcome until it isn't.)And what if the next manager doesn't want him after he's signed a 5 year deal?

On another note to counter your point in a different way, what if we sign someone that the next Head Coach wants and they end up not being good enough & don't play either? With every transfer there is a risk that they won't play or can fall out of favour with the Head Coach regardless of if they want them or not I guess. Also, I would imagine to a degree that any potential targets must surely be apart of any 'Interview or Unofficial Chats' with potential targets right?
The key for Manor Soloman here I guess is if we do actually sign him as I would be sure to think it isn't cut and dry or even close yet that he would likely be the only type of player with that skillset in our squad. What Head Coach doesn't love a good technical footballer, that is quick and agile? One that can create opportunities for himself and others?
Do you really think it was the Brighton Head Coach that went to the board saying, do you know what would really push us on? Mitoma, Enciso, Buonanotte and Sarmiento? Then it's clear whose at fault and who has the responsibility, it is then clear that the manager failed by his own decisions. That's a good thing.
We can't as fans sit here and complain about a lack of structure and yearn for what the likes of what Brighton have and then suggest that we completely undermine the system because an opportunity prevented itself. If we had the structure in place, then the manager could decide for themselves but we don't.
Absolutely, Brighton stand and fall by their structure which more often than not is rightThen it's clear whose at fault and who has the responsibility, it is then clear that the manager failed by his own decisions. That's a good thing.
