I am happy to see us moving into Asian market. Plus more money into our bank. Hope I can to see some advertising with Son in it.

We've already moved. AIA?

This deal is more about Kumho building a stronger brand globally, but particularly n the west. You may have seen their advertising at OT already?

Their great Asian rival is spending a fortune with Roman towards the same objective.

It's a great deal for all. I have a business connection to Kumho Tyres and the brand benefit in the UK during the Man Utd deal was huge. If they follow a similar blueprint, it will be a great partnership for all parties.

Son pulling in Korean companies

News from Korea

"Kumho Tire has been an official sponsor of Manchester United from 2007 to 2011 when Park Ji-sung was a player. Since 2007, sales in UK alone increased 80 percent. And the company estimates the publicity to be worth 300 billion won.

It also has sponsored Hamburg where Son Heung-min played for two seasons, and now followed him to the northern London football club. Established in 1882, Tottenham boasts more than 400 million fans with 150 official supporters around the world. It came in third last season. Lee Young-pyo has been a player from 2005 to 2008 and Son joined the club last year as the highest-paid Asian player in history."

Kumho Tire will also sign a sponsorship agreement with Olympique Lyonnais from France, further strengthening its presence in the European soccer field where the rest of top three Korean tire makers are also campaigning: Hankook Tire sponsors Real Madrid and Nexen has partnered with Manchester City.

400 millions fans? That may be slightly optimistic. Perhaps they're over-inflating the figure...

Oh yeah, where abouts?

I've just returned to London after 12 years in Asia, including four in Seoul.

Singapore.

Everything is always Man U, arse or Liverpool here.

Bloody puma shops NEVER stocked our jerseys, but when big for dam arse. Kumho isn't a really big brand. But it's a start.

This thread keeps going round and round in circles: are Kumho the right partner for us to exert pressure on the Korean fan-base? Personally, I feel they could be great alloys for us for now and the near future. Also, I'm sure Daniel must have driven a pretty hard deal treading the company line.
