Tottenham are aiming for a wide forward as their major summer signing, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze currently the two main targets.

Big fan of both players, but Eze plays more centrally than on the wing so not sure how him and Maddison would work together. Also, both seem to be injured a hell of a lot.

I don’t see us paying 60-80 million for these players, more like 30-40 for someone from another league.

Personally I have no idea what the transfer market will be like in the summer. Lots of people seem to be assuming that it'll just go back to business as usual after a (very) quiet January, but I don't think that's necessarily a given.

Sometimes things happen that lead to step-changes in markets. It happened in the transfer market in 2017 when PSG bought Neymar and Mbappe for ridiculous fees and overnight the value of players basically doubled as a result.

Outside of the PL and a few select clubs like Bayern and Real, everybody still seems to be very short of cash. Particularly the Italian and Spanish leagues. Maybe, just maybe, the financial rules are actually having the desired effect and we'll see a (long overdue, in my opinion) correction in the market? Who knows!
