To be honest that Chelsea, Man City titles worth nothing is just jealousy in the main.

I have never seen an asterisk next to their names in the record books, I don’t see their fans or media or players not count the trophies.

where do you draw the line, does Blackburns title count because of Jack Walker’s money ?
How about our 1960/61 team, it had by far the most money spent on it ?
The asterisks are there in my mind, and us winning trophies that way wouldn’t mean as much to me. But I know I’m in a minority here.

Good question about where to draw the line, honestly I don’t know. I’m not too happy about Joe Lewis either to be fair. But I do know that QSI is way beyond my line.

I’d like to point out that I’m not taking any moral high ground here or claiming to have a perfect definition of what investors are ”ok”. But the fact that we as fans are even having that discussion is just sad to me.

That’s fair enough. What happens to spurs won’t impact my daily life or financial position, so I understand why people want to roll the dice. For me as I’ve stated, I think Levy has been good for Spurs.
Commercially, brilliant. With footballing decisions - much harder to make a case for him - he's quite literally tried every type of coach and setup you could imagine and I honestly think that he doesn't know what direction to take the club in anymore.

Levy should become MD of Tottenham properties, with no involvement at all with any football matters, he can also be looking for partners, sponsorship or a takeover. Try and appoint someone like Paul Barber chief exec of Brighton to take our football forward, bring in Brighton's scouting team, sack Conte, find a progressive manager that actually improves players, knows how to motivatie and shows patience to allow them to feel freer.

I'd accept mid table for a couple of years as we develop our youth system, and play football where the players aren't terrified and inhibited and so frustrating to watch.

It feels like groundhog day, Quick-Fix Levy will look at the next year and do something that might look ok in the short-term but will simply replicate that same old crap. And I'll probably fall for it again.

Also, does anyone else feel like out of the 3 oil states involved in European football, that Qatar is the least competent? PSG has always been a shitshow, constantly chasing big names, full of drama in comparision to Manchester City. PIF/Saudi seems to be going under the radar with smart footballing decisions, not really making huge moves like the other 2 and sticking with a pretty unremarkable manager in Eddie Howe...

Would be pretty Spurs to finally get oil money and have Paratici turn into our version of that Leonardo character who has been at the center of so much drama at PSG.

Yet those property developers improved this club enough to be included at the top table (super league) and for the Qataris to be interested enough to invest in.

Could the on field stuff be better? Sure. But they took us from mediocrity to consistently near the top end of the league and the likes of Mourinho and Conte are interested enough to join in the first place. The only thing missing are trophies. They have given us the infrastructure to move to the next level. Give them some credit at least.
All of what you say is true but fair to say trophies are important to a club like ours, it is actually the point so we have to hope all of that leads to winning something.
I'm with you on it and have always given the credit because it allows us to behave differently and to now "show us the money", if the club doesn't do that then there was no point doing the other stuff.
Fingers crossed.

My point is they have taken us as far as they can and have probably stayed too long. But to say they were terrible or didn't do anything is disingenuous when (being born in 91) they have given me the best years as a Spurs fan trophies aside. I remember when we used to be happy just to finish 6th. Then buzzing we got 4th. Now we expect it. That's the improvement they have overseen. We just need someone or a group to take us to the next level.

Levy and ENIC have set us up for success whether people want to admit it or not. And they did so without bankrupting the club. I could think of far worse owners and chairmen we could have had.

What you say is absolutely right; but the crux of it is this - whilst ENIC may have given us the infrastructure to move to the next level (for which I agree they should be given plenty of credit), they are not equipped or prepared to take us there.

Klopps has said “there will be a very important change to the club” so sounds like somethings happening at Liverpool

Read my next post. That's exactly my point.

Why doesnt he loosen the purse strings then.

We are second bottom of the league in wages to turnover ratio. That's not a guy that wants to win things.

what’d wrong with that though? We also have the 5th biggest wage bill in the league, and a wage bill that is 20m higher than arsenals each year.

We have a lot of revenue. Doesn’t mean we have to spunk it all on unnecessary wages.

Do you really think QIS would invest in a pl team to treat water? I’m guessing that they would insist on a percentage of the money getting reinvested into a team that can compete but who knows really.
I don't know - which is why I asked. however, it could simply be that they believe the PL will continue to grow and thus it's purely an investment.

I'm wary of fans seeing what they want to see is all.

I’m like 99.9% sure he meant it as in refreshing the team in the summer, as their current lot has definitely ran it’s course.

Does anyone know whether QSI can buy the club outright through another entity that they set up?

Or maybe they buy a controlling interest in ENIC, so ENIC as an entity still owns the club. Would that get around the UEFA ownership rules?

I’m just hoping that three days with Levy is too much to bear for just a 25% share of the club and something more is being discussed ?
