I'm not sure how many of you want this thread shut down with 3 pages of off topic "who supports which teams in which county" shit, but It's one thread I'd be wanting to keep open right now personally.
There work wrote off for another day for me.....SC till I die!

Absolutely. Just deep down I didn't think anything would happen with regards to this.
Well fingers crossed we'll be put out of our misery soon.

You'd imagine we'd have a clear indication based on what business we do in the next couple of weeks.

That's it - its now official! We're about to embark on what future historians will be calling "The era when Tottenham Hotspur dominated world football!!" ?
"The era when Tottenham Hotspurs' continuing domination of world football began"

We all know it will be "The end of the era of Sports Washing, it stopped working when the buyout of League 2's Tottenham Hotspur happened"

Let's think about buying into Spurs from a Qatari perspective.

They are in football not because they love the game but because they want to use football to promote their country and its reputation.

From this perspective, owning PSG has significant drawbacks. Yes Paris is a great city and PSG is more or less guaranteed to win Ligue Un each year. But Ligue Un is a third tier at best competition in terms of global interest: the Premier League is clearly the leading competition and Ligue Un is arguably a third tier competition after Spain, Italy and Germany in terms of interest. Worse what interest there is in PSG outside France is tied to players - Messi (who is nearing the end of his career) and Mbappe (who sooner or later will be off to Real Madrid).

It would be a little different if PSG were regularly winning the Champion's League but they are not, arguably because they lack the week-by-week competition needed to harden the team and make them fit to beat the top European teams.

By contrast, an involvement with Spurs would give them a presence at the top-end of the most watched league, an association with arguably, the best football stadium in the world and, with the funding they could provide, opportunities to win trophies in England and Europe.

Moreover, an association with Spurs could allow them to out-compete geopolitical rivals like Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

It's true that EUEFA rules prevent anybody controlling 2 clubs playing in the same competition but there are ways around this.

Qatar could take a minority stake in Spurs that would be sufficient to enable them to block ENIC from taking key decisions without their agreement (such as selling their interest to others or even making key business decisions (like appointing a manager or setting a budget. QATAR could then enter into generous stadium naming rights and sponsorship deals (on a par with those that Newcastle and City have from their owners) that give the club the funds it needs to succeed.

This would be a win-win deal for everybody: the club gets the funds it needs to compete at the highest level; Qatar gets an association with a prominent successful club; and ENIC gets to realise some of the value it has created.

Over time Qatar could even divest itself of PSG.

I'm pretty sure that ENIC are pitching something like this to Qatar. They ought to be.

We know QSI are in a bit of a dispute with the local authority in Paris because the stadium needs a major overhaul but QSI want to own it if they are putting the money in to improve it. Wonder if they are considering an exit strategy from PSG?

My guess is that we've been preparing the club for sale since moving into the new stadium. Getting Conte and adding a trophy or two would have helped but I think that horse has bolted. The signs seem to be we could be close to a sale. I really hope so!
