This thread is now a solace for me whenever we lost or when the scum won, hoping for some unexpected positive updates that can get me happy and hopeful about this club again...
The good thing about this thread is that it will probably be alive and kicking beyond the january window ? ........... unless .......

The Gary Jacob piece tonight. I’ve read a variation of that same story every year since 1994. Levy out.

The Qataris have untold wealth, they have no intention of making money from taking a position in a PL club, their only interest is in winning to heighten their global recognition and perhaps to get one up on the Saudi's and Emirates. They don't care how much they need to spend to achieve these goals, money is no consideration...

and yet somehow, Daniel Levy will still price them out of a deal with Spurs.... :censored:

Unless it's Levy games to use as an excuse for no signings. Expecting rumours to die away in next week or two like the transfer window.

I'm not 100% convinced by this argument - very few wealthy people like to piss money away. It could well be that they believe that the PL is still growing in value and they want a piece of that investment - just like how they also buy high rises in central London.

Notwithstanding the fact of absolute incompetence from our board - the silence is veruy odd. During World Cup break there were good noises around conte extension, New contract for Kane etc. all this seems to have died down - kind of ties in with the takeover/minority sale conversation that supposed to have happened during the World Cup. You might want to give any prospective investor absolute/relative control over new coach, new football director (we are silent on that front as well) and naming rights… one way or other this will resolve in the next 10 days … lets see

I can see how it will be when the contract are to be sign.

QSI and Levy (Enic) have agreed and will sign the contract the next day. When the next day comes and QSI will sign the contract Levy tell them he has changed his mind and now want more money for the deal to get through. This will make the QSI really angry so they walk out of the room and then invest in Liverpool instead.
And we will still have Enic and Levy...

If they are interest then it was only a tentative enquiry and we would be looking at several months, if it goes forward, to any hear anything else.

Really wouldn’t hold your hopes out.

I’m genuinely curious - is there anyone on here who wants Levy and/or ENIC to stay?

I think the issue is and always will be Levy. I've barely said a word on here or anywhere else about him until now, if QSI investment comes with him being eased out, I'm for it. Yes, there's the moral issue, but it's getting to the point that honestly to me, it's irrelevant because what other hope do we have of getting Levy away from OUR club!

I'd like to see Levy stay, but only in charge of the commercial aspect of the club. I think he's done a terrific job in that regard.

Unfortunately for him and all of us, he's proven to be incompetent and a failure when it comes to sporting matters. At the same time, he's also proven that he can't keep these two roles separate from each other, he can't help it, making him unfit for a leadership role entirely.

Want Levy out asap, simply because a leopard never changes its spots. Others will say, yeah let him stay, he can look after non-football matters, but we all know he will break and interfere to detrement of the footballing side of things.
Has had over 20 yrs now, you may have built a stadium, but on the footballing side the trophy cabinet remains dusty.

There was a couple piped up in the ‘Ousting Levy’ thread yesterday.

It’s truly baffling stuff.

Probably several reasons based on some of the arguments I have heard.

1 some people just like to watch a game of football and don’t really mind how good we are and thus are not bothered if the owners remain.

2 Levy PR, he has developed the image of the smartest man in the room. Might be true in business but certain not football.

3 the 90’s/don’t want to do a Leeds. ENIC took over us at our bottom in many ways they have raised the level from that point, historically we are doing poorly under ENIC with just 1 cup but they look good next to Alan Sugar. So it’s a sort of don’t want to take a risk mentality.

4 Back to Sugar, some fans who only knew ENIC from the takeover think Sugar was our level historically. I have heard fans talk about us as though we where Bolton before ENIC turned up.

5 respect for ENIC achievements. Stadium, stability in both the league and finances, you can’t say they didn’t do that. Although for me that’s not enough anymore, they do sit on some good work, it won’t progress us to a higher level with a football plan which they clearly don’t have though.

It's baffling that people have a different opinion?

I am one who said they should move on, as we've hit a glass ceiling. However, our position doesn't deserve the level of fan unrest. It just makes us look entitled.

As for ENIC/Levy, no one knows exactly what is happening behind the scenes, and realistically QSI investment would probably keep levy in.

If QSI, and Levy started spending more, would a lot of you be Levy out? Probably not.

On this matter, yes.
If this was any other business/retailer THFC would've gone bust a long time ago....but they've got the fans by the bollocks, they continue to take the piss because they know we can't 'shop' elsewhere.

That's such an exaggeration. You aren't forced to go. You can chose not to go. I'd assume you are boycotting, immediately?

No one forces me to go, if I feel I'm not getting value, I'll just not renew.
