Cold Monday night game which started a bit nervously, crowd could be a bit better / louder but I’ve heard some songs it’s far from the worst atmosphere ever.
It wasn’t cold and the point is we’re playing fantastic front foot football, top of the league with a great feel good factor under Ange

Reminds me of the BMJ era after a lot of years of boring shite but the atmosphere compared to The Lane back then is chalk & cheese

You’re talking about Gary Neville - the post was about Gary O’Neil who is doing the MNF analysis as a guest this week (they seem to have a guest manager most weeks now in place of Neville who, I agree, has become shit).
What a tit. Yup you are absolutely right. My bad 👍

And I think this is what I felt at the time. Fulham increased their press and we were overplaying - possibly with a little too much arrogance. It's still the right way to play in general, but we needed to react to the game situation and play more in their half, not ours.

Nevertheless, they still only managed the one out-and-out chance, and we really should have been 4-0 up by then anyway.

He was good first half, and was great for the first goal.

Just thought BJ and his pace away from home my pose a better overall threat for this one.

Im a big fan of Risharlison so didnt mean to be overly critical.

ha - I'm more of a Richy sceptic and I went hard the other way 😂

Fans eh?!

Smart arse
Calm down mate, of course you can have your own opinion.

I can also disagree and have mine too.

You said it was a ‘hard watch’ which I didn’t agree with. You then went on to elaborate and say it was a ‘tough watch at times and our passing was sloppy etc’, which I agree with.

Your original comment made it seem like you thought the whole game was a tough watch which given we’ve had to endure matches under Nuno where we have no plan and have literally not had a single shot then for me a match where we dominated possession had 15 shots and scored 2 nice goals and won 2-0 is not something I’d consider a ‘hard watch’.

Have a good evening.

We are top of the league, lighten up, smile, relax those facial muscles.

Agree,Atmosphere should be better given the football we are being treated to and fact we are top of the league but I think that’s the way it goes now, most big clubs atmosphere is a little flat against some lower sides where we are dominating them.

The atmosphere at the Man.U game for me earlier in the season was terrific for example.

But yea we will never have what we had at the lane for certain periods of time the atmosphere there was very very special.

I agree. It was pretty loud around me in the south stand. I forget we get critiqued though even if the team win.

It was a weird game though. I didn’t think we were that great to be honest apart from a 15 minute spell towards the end of the first half and then bits of the second. Hojbjerg filled in for Bissouma well but we a different team with him in it.

and also very shit on numerous occasions. Tonight was fine. People just want to moan about something. It was a strange game and we got the job done.

Can’t believe the paying supporters are being criticised for atmosphere. This is the first game I’ve missed this season, as I couldn’t make it. Atmosphere this season has been on a different level to the last few years.

Conte thought Skipp and Holjberg were better than Bissouma and Sarr lol
And had no use for Maddison.

If Conte is still even considered the answer after his time with us then WTF is the footballing question.

Bloody well should be but it’s still pretty shite as is the case at virtually all top level grounds these days

I’m sure it’s been said already, but Destiny is a UNIT with pace, skill, and supreme intelligence.

He pretty much walks into 20 EPL sides at present.

First visit to the new stadium didn’t disappoint.

Top stadium.
Top seat.
Top manager.
Top team.
Top result.
Top of the league.

Just home and watched the extended highlights on NBC (with a VPN) and what's odd is that there was no real sense of panic in the crowd in the second half. We were sloppy, disjointed and should probably have been punished, but the South Lower were all fairly chilled about it.

My biggest impression from today, is that we are a really hard to team to play against. Fulham had to work really, really hard to just get out of their own half, the pressing and pressure from us was fantastic. Son and Richarlison pressed really well and Kulu just always seems to be available to take a pass.

At some point, things are going to really click and we will give a team an absolute pasting.

Jan is notoriously difficult to bring in players. Remember we have Bentacour and few others returning from injury.
Serious clubs seem to manage it. ‘We tried’ is not going to cut it after we’ve sold Kane and have done so well so far without him. We need to strengthen properly if we want to keep momentum, never mind push on as we should be

Yeah a lot of inside passes thinking that they had played through pressure only to make the pass difficult for the receiver and give Fulham a chance to take it.

I think Silva was quite smart actually.

He did the right thing by backing off and shutting off the middle and letting us go wide as we kept cutting in and they were set.

But we started to find gaps and got well in top.

He scrapped that and threw on Iwobi who would press more and they forgot about Hojberg and just tried to force us into a passing error.

Unfortunately we didnt seem to adapt well.

I think we have had a couple of really short spells in other games but Bissouma and Sarr are so good that they eventually wrestle back control.

Hojbjerg cant do that so well. Especially when Sarr and Udogie have to go off.

So the game became even more of a scramble.

We would have lost against better opposition in similar circumstances so glad it happened now and not then.

It was clear to me Ange had Palace and Chelsea to think about

We have a few players who have slight niggles (Son, Romero, Maddison, Sarr) so I am certain that was on everyone's mind and I reckon he told those players if they feel strained then to ask to come off.

We dont want to lose good ground we have made because we have to start with the likes of Skipp, Davies, Hojbjerg and Dier. Because we are guaranteed to do that if we have to start a selection of them.

The objective will be to get through that Palace game then we have a good amount of time to get recovered with Bissouma and hopefully Bentancur involved.

Thought we were good first half and sloppy and laboured second half. Ange obviously sees that too and I can imagine Richarlison was front of mind when he spoke about taking liberties on the ball albeit he was a symptom of what was going on around him rather than the sole offender.

But we’ve beaten a solid side comfortably to go back to the top of the league. We’ll have worse times supporting this club.

On the atmosphere…it’s much better than the last few years. The only time this season I got any sense of frustration was when we couldn’t break The Dippers down. Even v Sheffield United at 0-1 in injury time, I thought the crowd stayed behind the team. And, for me, that’s Ange’s biggest achievement so far.
